Arendell Parrott Academy's Jaylen Solomon got the Patriots into the win column with a monstrous performance, which included 18 carries for 296 yards and 6 TDs, plus 1 catch for 28 yards and 1 TD!

Cornerstone Christian Academy's Brody Barksdale put on a clinic despite his team's loss, contributing 16 tackles (14 solo), 1 tackle-for-loss, 1 QB hurry, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery!

Jordan Brown from Tri-Cities Christian Academy lit up the field in Gatlinburg this past Saturday, with 73% completion for 297 yards and 5 TDs, plus 5 carries for 57 yards and 2 TDs, leading his team to an eye-popping 76-40 win!

Kyler Barkley from PAC Panthers Football - Public was a force on the defensive side of the ball in a close 14-12 win at the 2024 Black Bear Brawl, with 7 tackles (6 solo), 2 passes defensed, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 forced fumble!

Let's do a recap of some coaching changes across 8-man football!

1. Tabernacle Christian School has tagged alum Josiah Davis to take over the head coaching role at TCS! After his playing career, where the Torches made the CFA championship in 3 of 4 seasons, Coach Davis served as an assistant coach in 2022 and OC in 2023.

2. South Haven Christian School long-time assistant Michael Crawley will assume the head coaching job for SHCS! In his time with the Patriots, Coach Crawley contributed as OC to the Patriots' 2017 MTAC championship win, as well as their 2020 TSIAA championship appearance.

3. Speaking of SHCS coaches, Northland Christian School has promoted Scott Edmondson, former Patriots HC from 2007-2014, to continue building a 4-year old Trailblazers program. Coach Edmondson, who won the 2014 TAACS title, had been helping Coach Seth Bass, who also had coaching ties in TN.

4. Finally, Franklin Classical School has got their guy, as they have hired Tim Egbert to be head coach! Coach Egbert, a newcomer to the world of 8-man, will look to rebuild the FCS program and get them back to the SEEC playoffs.

Today's update comes from both South Carolina:

The Georgia School for Innovation and the Classics (Hephzibah), along with the Carolina Wildcats (Pickens, SC) have joined the Southern Independent Football Association, which will stay at 6 members with the departure of Orangeburg Christian Academy and Victory Christian School.

The South Carolina Association of Christian Schools, which sponsor several sports, have decided to pickup football in 2025, which is where the Patriots and the Vikings are headed after a season of independent play.

Never before has a Tennessee school dropped 8-man varsity football and brought it back, and Coach Chalmers led that charge! Absolutely hate to see him go, but would love to see him throw on a different headset for 2024!

On another note, love to see Coach Creasy back in 8-man football! His story is incredible, and his passion for the game and the boys is awesome to watch!

On Friday, Coach Chalmers and RCA's Administration met with the middle and high school boys. Coach Chalmers announced that he will be pursuing options outside of education when this school year comes to an end.

Coach Chalmers has been a blessing to RCA, our students, and their families. He has worked hard to build a football program that would not only compete, but would ignite a spirit of excellence within our student body. He is one of RCA's biggest fans. Coach Chalmers is committed to our students' Christian development and wants them to see Heaven as the most important victory they could ever experience. He is committed to seeing RCA move forward with his support and lots of prayer.

During the meeting, RCA's 2024-25 Football Coaching Staff was announced: Travis Creasy-Head Coach, Tad Fletcher-Defensive Coordinator, and Matt Tucker-Strength, Conditioning, & Nutrition Coach. All three of these men have a long history with football, and are devoted to leading young people to Christ.

We are thankful for Coach Chalmers and his willingness to lead our football program back to viability and success, and we are thankful for the men who have stepped in to continue leading the program in the future.
