Leaving Tennessee with three children, three hundred dollars and only what would fit in her rusted-out Ford, Penny Fletcher took every available job once she got to Florida. She’s managed convenience stores where she’s been held up at gunpoint; obtained a CDL license and driven a delivery truck; and worked every job Holiday and Ramada Inns had to offer. But
despite the PTSD she still carries from a traumatic childhood and the violently-abusive marriage that left her family temporarily homeless, she continued to write, being published in national magazines ranging from Gulf Coast Fisherman to True Romance and True Story. For the last thirty-five years she’s been known as a staff writer and editor for large media companies, as an editor for Amazon’s first publishing division, BookSurge, and a successful freelance photo journalist. Her life experience and history of writing, editing and especially training new writers has well prepared her for her new position as founder and CEO of Soaring Eagle Books. Having five daughters didn’t stop Karen Lewandowski from going back to school and becoming an honor student recognized in the National Who’s Who. And having Metastatic Cancer didn’t keep her from continuing to study subjects that qualified her to start and run her own business in her home town of Sun City Center, Florida. Having studied sales, finance, business law, computer graphics and operations gave her a background from which she could branch into whatever business she chose. Earning her OSHA Certificate as a Safety Instructor; working at PDG Graphics proofing everything that passed through; and being recognized by the Florida Legislature as an outstanding member of the All State Academic Team in 2013 has given her the accumulative experience to take on the position of Chief Operating Officer at Soaring Eagle Books. A motivational speaker and author currently working on the book THRIVING WARRIOR, about continuing to live despite whatever may come, Karen will get the chance to use her cross-over skills to help both new and experienced authors achieve their goals. Tabatha Carpenter started using computers as soon as she could reach the keyboard. She had her first MySpace at 14, and at 18, got her first Facebook and Twitter accounts. She often found herself helping others make their pages because she had an instinctive understanding of how social media works. The California native now lives in Michigan and although she has her veterinary assistant certificate, is home with her three young children. This has given her time to delve into every site she could find and has allowed her to do major fundraising for causes. Recently she set up a site for Ella Rose, who had been accidentally injured and hospitalized. Within less than a week, she had raised more than $2,000 on Facebook alone. That site is still accepting donations at www.giveforward.com . And In two days, she searched for and located her adopted sister who she had never met. Tabatha knows exactly how to connect people and ideas on the Internet which makes her a valuable member of the Soaring Eagle Book Team.
