You’re Not Alone

Emotional health is being able to recognize and feel your emotions, and to express them appropriately. Emotional healing is how you get there. When you’re on your Emotional Healing Journey, it can feel like you’re driving in fog. But you’re not alone.

Different people are on emotional healing journeys for different reasons. I’m a survivor of childhood trauma, but my journey was about more than just surviving what happened to me when I was 4. I am also an adult child of alcoholics, even though my family resisted that label.

The thing is, no matter your reason for your emotional healing journey, there will be similarities with mine, and with those of other people. I used to get hung up on details, thinking that only people who had my exact experiences could understand my journey, or help me with what I needed. I cheated myself out of a lot of help with that attitude. So listen to the podcast, or read the transcripts, even if you don’t think our experiences match up.

It will still help you realize you are not alone, and maybe you’ll find something that will help. And remind yourself, as often as it takes, that you are worth healing.
