After over two and a half years of the
Ludhiana horror incident wherein a 2.5-year-old Dilroz was m*rdered, the Ludhiana court on Thursday ordered the d*ath sentence of the murder convict who has been
identified as Neelam. The accused, Neelam (35), who is a resident of the Shimlapuri area in Ludhiana, has been convicted of brutally m*rdering Dilroz Kaur (2), the toddler daughter of her neighbor, Harpreet Singh. As per the police, Neelam had buried Dilroz alive in a pit she dug in the Salem Tabri
area on November 28, 2021.
Police further added that Neelam had planned the toddler's m*rder because of an old rivalry she had with her family. She buried the child alive after digging a pit in a field near Salem Tabri. After burying her alive, the accused
returned home and started behaving as if nothing happened.
However, she was interrogated after police scanned CCTVs and found her taking the girl away on her scooter. During the interrogation, she confessed to the crime she committed.

Deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Friday ordered the education department to carry out inspections in every school of the district, in response to several complaints related to books and uniforms against the educational institutions.

Sawhney directed them to form special flying squads or committees to examine each school and ensure that all the institutions comply with the guidelines of the Punjab Regulation of Fee of Un-aided Educational Institutions Act, 2016. She further stated that any of the schools found violating the Act must be reported to the Fee Regulation Committee or authority for further action.

State Head of IFFCO, Harmail Singh Sidhu, said that these skilled female pilots, known as 'Namo drone Didis,' would help to achieve higher productivity, enhanced crop health, and reduced environmental impact using Nano Urea and Nano DAP with drones. Following alarming footage of school students engaging in dangerous road celebrations, Ludhiana's Deputy Commissioner, Sakshi Sawhney, has taken decisive action. Directing the Police Commissioner to identify and penalize violators, she mandates civic duties and road safety classes for offenders.
The DEO has been tasked with identifying the schools associated with the students seen in the viral videos and issuing notices to the individuals involved. Furthermore, schools have been instructed to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future by implementing stricter supervision and disciplinary measures.
ACP Traffic Charanjiv Lamba said that the team is scanning the videos surfacing on social media as well as with the help of CCTV cameras, the vehicles owners are
being traced. As of now around 5-6 notices have been issued to such vehicle owners.

Ahead of the farmers’ proposed Delhi Chalo march, the Haryana government sealed the state’s border with Punjab in Ambala and ordered suspension of mobile internet and bulk SMS services in seven districts beginning 6 am on February 11.
According to an official order, the mobile internet services will remain suspended in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa districts till 23:59 pm on February 13.

To carry out re-carpeting process, one side of elevated road of Southern Bypass near BRS Nagar, Ludhiana will be closed from 10th February 2024 for approximately 20 days.

🔸️ For those traveling from Ferozepur side towards Doraha, the diversion will be directed via South City - Ladhowal Bypass.

🔸️ City traffic heading towards Gill Road or Dugri will be rerouted via Pakhowal Road underpass, starting from MC Zone D Office Road.

She requested her neighbors to cease the activity, explaining that her small children frequently woke up from sleep due to the disturbance. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched the Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF) at an event held at the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) headquarters in Jalandhar on Saturday. This is the first such force in the country.

The 1,600-strong force would be deployed across a 4,000 km road network of national highways and state highways in Punjab.

It comprises 144 vehicles including 116 high-end Toyota Hilux vehicles equipped with state-of-the-art gadgets and linked to the nearest trauma centres to help accident victims.

SSF teams would be deployed every 30 kilometres to assist accident victims and ensure that the latter get medical treatment within 15 minutes, CM Mann said while launching the SSF

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Neeraj Saluja, former director of SEL Textiles Limited in a Rs.1530 crore bank fraud case on thursday.

On January 12th ED has conducted a series of raids on 14th residential, Commercial and Industrial properties of company. ED had started a probe against the firm under the provision of Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, after CBI registered an FIR in connection with fraud in 2020.

The allegations are that Saluja and other proprietors of M/s SEL Textiles Limited had caused a loss of Rs 1531 crore to a consortium of 10 banks, including Central Bank of India, by illegally diverting the loan sanctioned to them.
