A walking group called Brotherz Keepers is spreading awareness of healthy living and positive mental health among Pasifika men. The group recently completed a 45km walk around Auckland to mark the end of a five-week walking challenge. The challenge saw around 60 participants from across the country and the Pacific taking part.

From choir singing as a teenager in Samoa, to training to be an early childhood teacher in New Zealand in his 40s, Salamo Sooalo's life has by no means followed a traditional path. Salamo began singing in his local church's choir in the late 1980s, and eventually began helping to coordinate church choirs around Samoa in the early 1990s.

Salamo wants an ECE that combines Faʻa Sāmoa with the values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

The Shepparton Culture Kitchen project is bringing a piece of traditional Samoan cuisine to the Goulburn Valley this weekend with A Taste of Umu. Developed by local Samoan woman Leaisa Pele in collaboration with artist Jamie Lewis, attendees will be able to immerse themselves in Samoan culture, plus enjoy some culinary delights.

Seventeen people have been recognised in the Queen's New Year's honours for their services to Pacific communities in Aotearoa New Zealand. Faumuina Professor Fa'afetai Sopoaga leads the New Year's Honours list for Pacific recipients.
