Overwhelm

This isn’t spoken about enough. As entrepreneurs there is always so much to do, another email to respond to, a form to fill out, an annoying customer, a supplier issue, staff issue, market changes, phone calls, to do-lists… it’s all so overstimulating sometimes.

I can promise you that everyone feels this way regularly, if you have big goals and ambitions (most don’t though, let’s be real) your mind is always thinking about the next thing, the next step, the next big progress for you and your business.

You’re working on a present-thing, but in your mind you're planning 10 steps ahead. There is a fine balance, because when you don’t have a team, or it’s too early/expensive to outsource, what do you do?

You simply have to do all of these things and play many roles. At some point in your business, it’s painful. This is why I like to acquire businesses with staff and structures in place, so I’m not IN the business. It has it’s own challenges of course.

“Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so”

You have a choice today, and every day. You decide how you perceive things and how it affects you, nobody else should have that power.

But, in today’s world we give any old Joe the power. Social Media likes, random people online, other drivers, someone at the gym… we seem to let everyone but ourselves, decide how we feel.

It’s hard, you can’t suddenly just change the perceptions you have been raised with, from your family, culture, background and experiences, but you can make a start.

The next time something happens, anything, someone cutting you up on the motorway, STOP (not the car!) and think. Put some distance between the stimuli and your response, think why they may have done it? Do they know you personally and want to p**s you off? Could they be running late? Could they be going to the hospital? Are they just a dick, and you’re grateful you’re not?

Learn to question your habits of perception.

AVOID Dainty London Jewellery

We are taking legal action against Jade and her 'Jewellery'.

On Multiple occasions she has provided faulty items to us, agreed a refund and then went back on her word. She passed us to one of her Juniors, Daniel Smithson, who is unfortunately as clueless as her and who responds with emails that don't make sense.

She continues to argue with us despite all the evidence we have. First the ring arrived with a dent/scratch in the middle of the gem. Then it came and the clasps started to open/break after a few weeks (it's not worn daily) and on her final attempt, she sent a ring that's described as 'gold plated'...without gold plating on it.

They say their QC is detailed and their 'expert jewellers' have reviewed the case, but the evidence (which they have none of) does not equal this.

If you're brave/stupid enough to buy from them, don't expect anything of any quality, or to be treated with respect.

Ah, to travel the world—be in Bali ‘discovering yourself’, in Dubai living the lavish life, or trekking around South America... while making money at the same time. Not living off Daddy’s Trust fund, right?⁠

You might think you need to be in an office, dressed in a suit, making big business decisions. But that’s not true in 2024. How can you ‘go digital’ and become totally location independent?⁠
⁠
• Residency: You’ll likely need a residency somewhere for tax reasons, but you can be physically anywhere. Consult a tax advisor or experienced nomad before you set off.⁠
⁠
• Business Setup: Start or pivot to a business that can be managed from anywhere. Digital products or services like coaching, education, consulting, or even physical merchandise (managed remotely) are ideal.⁠
⁠
• Launch an MVP: Gather market data and feedback to continuously improve your product and marketing strategies. Your customers are your best critics.⁠
⁠
• Equipment and Health: Invest in good equipment (like a strong laptop—think MacBook) and ergonomic work arrangements. Don’t underestimate the importance of a good working setup, even when abroad.⁠
⁠
• Finances: Ensure you have enough money saved up before leaving your home country. It’s safer and keeps you driven. Necessity fuels innovation and sales.⁠

• Business Analysis: What can AI handle? What needs human touch? If tasks must be outsourced, who will handle them and at what cost?⁠

• Understanding the Lifestyle: Be honest about why you want to be a nomad. The lifestyle can be glamorous but also lonely. It requires constant networking and can be emotionally draining.⁠

This isn’t an all-encompassing guide, but I hope it inspires and helps you if you’re planning this lifestyle. I could be a digital nomad, but it doesn’t interest me at this stage of my life. If I were 21 and single, I think I’d absolutely try it for a while.⁠

The amount of people in my DMs, who have spoken to me 1, 2, 3, even 4 years ago, who’ve achieved F-all in that time is staggering.⁠

This won’t apply to some of you – because I see you. Putting in work. I respect it.⁠

I say it as it is, and I’ll say it to your face if you’re one of these people though. You need to be told. How can you spend years of your life, pretending to yourself that you’re doing something to build your future.⁠

How can you lie to yourself like that? Lie to me, lie to the world... but to yourself?⁠

Every day you have, you make a choice to build your future. Whether that’s a 9-5 that you love, or a business you’re passionate about starting, or properties you want to buy. Most people make the choice to stay safe, not do anything outside the box society puts you in, and play it safe.⁠

Some people like to pretend they are doing things. Listening to free podcasts, reading books, watching YT, going ‘networking’ – getting all these golden nuggets.⁠

Well, I don’t see any gold, I just see chicken nuggets.⁠
⁠
Because you’re a chicken.⁠
⁠
You scared.⁠
⁠
And that’s ok. Really, it is.⁠
⁠
It leaves more properties, more sales, and more business for ME to buy/sell. So, I thank you for that. ;)⁠

Now, if you’re given an opportunity to get ahead, to invest in yourself, to make a change, and you deny it year after year.⁠

In this game, you can’t be emotional about property purchases. You can’t ⁠get attached to the amount of effort you have put into a deal, or the ⁠process, even if it’s going well.⁠
⁠
At any point it can and will go wrong. Yep, even for you Mr. “I’ve done ⁠ YouTube and read some books, I’m now doing a 10 bed HMO as my first ⁠deal”.⁠
⁠
The number of numbers that go into this process, to just find one deal are ⁠shocking. The failure rate is massive. You will fail most of the time.⁠
⁠
Are you ready for that?!⁠

I worked in Recruitment, so it was second nature to me. But, how many ⁠times have you been rejected? How will you handle this?⁠
⁠
All that wasted effort, time and money. Do you ever get it back?⁠
⁠
There’s light at the end of the tunnel, don’t you worry. I’ve purchased ⁠enough property to know. When you get those keys, or more likely when ⁠you finish the project, all the emotions of that effort can come flooding ⁠back, usually in relief and gratitude. ⁠

If you’re serious, then get ready. All the books, Podcasts and ‘golden ⁠nuggets’ in the world can’t prepare you for the challenges ahead.⁠

I can though. My mentees are going to do 10x more than you. Sorry, but ⁠it’s true.⁠
