It may not be a Christmas story, but Conrad Trump's newest book published by High Peaks Publishing is one heck of a good read.

A master storyteller, Conrad's done it again with this tale of a mysterious shade, the fugitive of Sheol, the place where the dead await their final judgement, and the havoc the spirit wreaks on those with whom he crosses paths—will they find a way to send him back to the blood-soaked caverns of She'ol where he belongs?

Fascinating characters and a great story—it's all here in print and eBook formats.

Did you catch the Winter 2024 issue of ADIRONDAC magazine with the great review of Joe Dumoulin's ROCKS, ROOTS, AND MUCK?

"Joseph D. Dumoulin writes passionately, and with clear objectivity, about the Adirondack region in ROCKS, ROOTS, AND MUCK (High Peaks Publishing, 2022). Dumoulin tells stories of breathtaking hikes, challenging cross-country ski and snowshoe explorations, and memorable camping trips with his two children, their children, and Hannelore, his beloved wife of fifty years. The chapters also speak of first memories, the personalities of trees, the rich diversity of Adirondack animals and humans, and climate change, which he contends there is still time to fix. The underlying theme that threads through his book is his love of the Adirondacks, his friends, and his family."—Erena Fulton

We received a super announcement from our friend Amanda Miller—and, folks, we can't recommend her highly enough! Here's her message:

Hi friends! I've enjoyed working with writers for a few decades now, and I'm excited to announce that I'm offering freelance developmental editing for novelists and memoirists. This can be in-depth big picture feedback (character arcs, pacing, etc.) on either a single large chunk of a novel/memoir or a consultation service that spans 8 or 12 weeks to keep you motivated and provide feedback along the way. Please follow my FB page Proof Rock Developmental Editing or check out my website below. Feel free to ask any questions here or email me at [email protected].

Jessie Lopez has always loved horses. A lot.

She loves all kinds of horses—that is, all except for one particular breed. She’s sure about that, too. No need to discuss it or use logic. She’s got her reasons, and she will never, ever
give that breed a chance.

But then she meets one very special horse and learns one very important lesson.

Jessie’s Lesson tells a story about the risks of preconceived notions and the rewards of an open mind. Written for younger readers, it’s a powerful reminder for all of us.

We're so honored to have worked with Lorraine on the editorial side of this wonderful book in our High Peaks Publishing program. It's an important story as well.

And, without giving too much away, Lorraine is working on another book. Completely different subject but just as fascinating.

Watch for details in 2023!

We are sorry for the passing of our author Jim Wilson this weekend. In the short time we worked together to produce his book, we came to be both admiring and fond of Jim. He became a friend.

He received the first copies of his marvelous book on Wednesday and then left us early Saturday. We are grateful Jim got to hold a copy in his hands before he passed. We are also grateful that we got to meet such a remarkable man and help bring his story to book form.

We extend our love and condolences to his wonderful wife (and proofreader and indexer) Jeanette Frank. We are so sorry for your loss.
