FAQs
I've said I'm coming to the event. That's enough right? We need everyone interested in attending the Teesside Short Film Festival to buy a ticket! This is a not-for-profit event and only runs with the support of the film-making community! Do I have to buy a ticket if I have submitted a film? The Teesside Short Film Festival is a not-for-profit event and is only able to run if film submissions come in and tickets are sold. There may be some film-makers unable to make it to the festival but still wish to submit their film(s). Can I submit a film to the festival even if I am unable to attend? Even if you can't be there, your film still could be. This is a chance to have your work shown on the big screen and win awards for your efforts! If your film is chosen to be shown you will be asked to submit an introduction to your film for us to read to your audience. How do I submit my film? First, you need to make the required donation tied to the length of your film. Once this donation is made, you can send us your film for review and potential screening through our e-mail address. If you have a large file that you cannot send through your e-mail provider, please use WeTransfer.com; a free file sending service. WeTransfer will also let you know when we have downloaded your film. We are working to make this simpler in the future. Can I submit more than one film? Of course you can! But as you can see in the information above, there will only be a finite amount of time and number of time-slots. Can I/we introduce my/our film? Of course! There will be a short introduction to each film that can be done by either yourself or your team, or by one of our team members. This will only be brief, but the stage will be yours. Why might my film not be shown? Our judges will be assessing the film(s) you submit with a focus on run-time, available time-slots, production location, production date and quality. The priority of these values will change throughout the run-up to the festival. What would be the ideal film for this festival? A film completed in the last year in the Tyne-Tees area, or with film-makers from the North East. The run-time would be around 15 to 40 minutes. Any 'genre' or style is welcome and creative ingenuity is encouraged! All films will be reviewed by our judges, so please submit even if your film does not perfectly fit this description! Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? There are no age restrictions for the Teesside Short Film Festival, but there may be films unsuitable for some audience members. Each film will be introduced with appropriate warnings, so viewer discretion is advised. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, as long as we have your correct details, there will be no need for you to bring your printed ticket. What is the refund policy? Tickets will be fully refunded minus processing charges (Eventbrite's fees) should you be unable to attend or your film omitted for whatever reason. Where can I contact the organiser with any further questions? You can e-mail us at [email protected], or find us on Facebook or Twitter!
