Sunday Best Recordings are devastated at the passing of David Lynch. We had the privilege of working with this legend releasing two albums “Crazy Clown Time” and “The Big Dream”.

“Devastated to hear of David’s passing. The records (and the actual vinyl records are one of my most treasured discs) are such an amazing part of our Sunday Best story… left field, eerie, beautiful, otherworldly music that came from his heart and incredible mind….getting to actually hang out with David and see him getting excited about music and ideas was hugely inspiring and the whole Sunday Best team will miss him.

“I had the utter and incredible privilege of working with him when we signed him to Sunday Best Recordings releasing an EP and two artist albums “Crazy Clown Time” and “The Big Dream”. Many fervent days and nights over a few years, did I spend, putting detailed campaigns together which I was incredibly passionate about and then overseeing them worldwide.

It was a magical and immersive period. Known as a huge talent across every medium, he also created all his own artwork for his albums with us. He was always supporting the independent, the individual and the eclectic We shared and worked with him on his vision of his release.

Sunday Best send their thoughts to his family and close friends at this difficult time.

The stunning duet between Matt Berry and Kitty Liv - ‘I Gotta Limit’ - was the first music shared from Matt’s new album ‘Heard Noises’, out 24 January 2025.

The reaction to the track has been so overwhelming, Matt wanted to give you the opportunity to own it at an earlier date, and asked if we could release it as a 7-inch single. We were only too happy to oblige, and Matt prepared some unique artwork for the record’s picture sleeve.

Looking for a new B-side, we remembered that Bond composer David Arnold had prepared a mix of ’Summer Sun’, that for all sorts of reasons to do with timing was languishing in the vaults. A dramatic experience, this mix sees the track given a full orchestral backing, creating a filmic reworking of the original.

In The Midst of You finds Brad in late night lothario mode, his previous seductive style now taking a more resolutely romantic and perhaps surprisingly spiritual direction. The phrase “in the midst of you” comes from the Bible, Zephaniah 3:17, “the full quote is something along the lines of “God is in the midst of you” - basically meaning that you have to look inward for peace or enlightenment, etc. the album is about that in parts and also, as always, I tried to put a romantic twist on it so that the “in the midst of you” is about being in love with somebody. It’s kind of a juxtaposition but I’ve always enjoyed taking spiritual messages and giving them a double meaning, explains Brad. “Hopefully it’s a positive message of prostrating yourself to somebody, or to spirituality or something - but giving yourself fully to something , being in the midst…”
