William (Bill) Hladky recently retired from the Miami-Dade Police Department as a homicide detective after 30 years in law enforcement. Before becoming a cop, Bill was a newspaper reporter for several newspapers, including the Fort Lauderdale Sun- Sentinel, the Savan
nah Morning News and Evening Press, and the Iowa City Press-Citizen. Bill has received numerous awards for his journalistic and criminal investigations. Bill has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. In 2013, he was awarded a second Master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Criminal Justice. He was been reporting for the FloridaBulldog.org since 2013. Charles (Charlie) Holt is a retired Miami-Dade Police officer. He ended his 28-year career as the department’s first full time forensic artist and studied forensic art at the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Charlie is a graduate from Miami-Dade College and the University of South Florida, with a BA in Geography. Charlie has been the Erwin (Tennessee) Record’s editorial cartoonist for the past 12 years. He has illustrated a medical book and a book on east Tennessee folk tales.
