Whooop! Who’s going to be next week?

I’m absolutely thrilled (and slightly 💩🫣) that next Sunday I’ll be speaking at Top Drawer all about how you can use DIY PR to go from Unknown to Unstoppable and use PR to grow your business.

Happy New Year!

I hope you’ve had a lovely break. Despite being hit by the Xmas lurgy (like everyone else it seems) I’ve had a lovely time and am slowly emerging from the cheese and fizz fest.

I thought it would be a great time to reintroduce myself and give you an overview of the different ways we can work together in 2025.

I started The PR Set with a mission to make PR accessible to small business owners, entrepreneurs and innovators (just like you) who think that PR is out of reach because they don’t have big budgets or journo contacts.

It’s just not true.

You don’t need big £££ to do PR for your business - you need the knowledge and confidence to get the results - and that’s where I come in. 😜

So many small business owners I’m speaking to at the moment are finding the things they’ve relied on to build their business aren’t working in the same way for them - if that’s you then you’re in place, because PR will help you reach new audiences, get you talked about in the right places, give you endorsement for your business that all the ads in the world can’t buy, drive sales and traffic to your website and build a brand that’s here to stay.

If I’m totally honest I couldn’t be bothered to make a 2024 highlights reel 🤣

But I have been doing some reflecting about what I’m proud of and what I’m leaving behind.

We don’t celebrate ourselves enough as small business owners do we? So let this be your celebration of what you’ve achieved this year!

We’re still here, we’ve got to the end of another year in (another) tough climate 👊👊👊

This year I’m really proud of
🎧launching my podcast and the great feedback it’s getting
and
🙌adding new ways of working with me into the business. My 1-2-1 Accelerator has been joyous and I’ve worked with some incredible people who’ve got brilliant results through it.

More of that in 2025!!

Happy Chrimbo one and all!

No mega deep post from me with learnings and reflections for 2025 because I’ve not had time to think and I’ve been hit by the Xmas Lurgy 🤧but I do want to say thank you to each and every one of you for being part of my crazy rollercoaster ride that we’re all on. I love what I do and I couldn’t do it without you.

I Hope you have a great one in whatever way you’re spending the next few days. Big love to you and yours

One thing I’ve realised in 2024 that I don’t do enough of is talk about my client delivery/ done for you work.🙈

It tends to get lost in the passion and excitement I have for helping people to do it themselves.

But my client work is a big part of my business and something I think is important because not only do I get to help brilliant entrepreneurs, founders, small businesses and experts get known for what they do, it also keeps me connected to what’s going on out there, I keep learning and evolving and see what’s working and in turn use that when I’m teaching DIY through my membership or Accelerator programme.

At the heart of everything I do is working with brilliant people who are doing work that’s bigger than themselves and I love being able to help them tell that story, whether that’s through my DIY PR Membership, 1-2-1 Accelerator, new Get Known programme or my client delivery work.

So I just thought I’d remind you that I do it for you too - and if this is something you’re looking for, let’s chat in the New Year about how I can help you use PR to grow your business and get known for what you do! (Once we’ve got to the end of the Celebrations and Babycham)

(p.s. I have one rule though. I don’t work with d*cks, but you’re here so I very much doubt you’re one of those anyway!)

They’re taking action. Simples.

It’s not because they’re bigger than you or better than you or have some magic sauce.

It’s because they’re doing to do. They’re taking action. They’re putting themselves out there.

They’re not overthinking it. They’re not worrying what people will say (because they don’t say it anyway, no one has that much time to think about you!). They’re not looking over their shoulder worry if they’re good enough.

They’ve realised that they- like you- have every right to take up space, that journalists want to know about you, that PR opportunities are there for the taking.

Now go forth, take action and send that f*cking email you’ve been thinking about for 6 months.

(I’m feeling angry today for obvious reasons so I’m going to use this ranty mood for good)

I asked my DIY PR Members to bust some myths about PR and this is one of my absolute faves.

You deserve a seat at the PR table

Your business is enough.

You are enough.

You don’t need to be bigger, or better, or shinier, or wait until….

You are worthy.

You have every right to be here.

And you probably have far more interesting stories and PR opportunities than the “big boys” anyway.

Don’t let you get in the way of getting some amazing results for your business.

Let’s show them how it’s done.

This is what happens when you send the f*cking email. ⬆️ When you stop overthinking, worrying about people judging you. When you stop doubting if your good enough. You make it happen. Yesterday I talked on stage @topdrawerlondon - something I’ve wanted to do for about three years. Do you know what made it happen? ME. I stopped waiting for it to come to me and I went out and got it. Yes you’ve got to push yourself out of your comfort zone, yes it can feel a bit cringe, yes you might feel sick in the week running up to it and wonder whether you can actually do it. But you push on through and get comfortable feeling uncomfortable. That’s the thing about PR- bring proactive and pitching yourself or your business for opportunities makes it happen. So how about we make a collective pact to do more of this in 2025? Just think of all the great things we’ll be doing. Who’s in?
