Zamboanga Chong Hua High School (ZCHHS), through its official school publication Dโ€™Journ, placed fourth overall at the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held on December 19โ€“20, 2025, earning four slots in the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).

Ranier Reyes led the qualifiers after clinching first place in Sports Writing. He was joined by Francina Tejada, who placed third in Copy Reading and Headline Writing; Deron Clark Salome, who secured third place in News Writing; and Xerxes Hadjaruddin, who also placed third in Editorial Cartooning, all advancing to the regional level.

The publication also earned 10th place in Best News Section and seventh place in Layout under the paper-based category, both qualifying for the regional level.

ZCHHS further strengthened its performance as the Radio Scriptwriting and Broadcasting Team finished second overall, underscoring the schoolโ€™s strong showing in broadcast journalism.

Dโ€™Journ also garnered several additional recognitions, placing fourth in Feature Writing, seventh in News Writing, ninth in Editorial Writing, and 10th in Science and Technology Writing, reflecting the publicationโ€™s consistent and well-rounded excellence across multiple categories.

The four qualifiers are set to represent ZCHHS at the RSPC next year, carrying forward the schoolโ€™s commitment to quality, responsible, and competitive campus journalism.

Zamboanga Chong Hua High School solidified its reputation for journalistic excellence after clinching the Champion title in English Radio Broadcasting at the Quadrant Schools Press Conference โ€“ Quadrant 3 (QSPC).

The competition, held recently at Sta. Maria Central School SPED Center on November 24, 2025, showcased the outstanding skills of ZCHHS student journalists as they secured a top championship title and another podium finish, bringing immense pride to the entire school community.

The victory in English Radio Broadcasting qualifies the team to advance to the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) on December 19โ€“20. In addition to this major win, the school also earned 3rd Place in Collaborative Desktop Publishing (English), marking a strong and inspiring performance from Dโ€™ Journ.

Guided by their dedicated coach, Maโ€™am Joylyn Jalon, the Chong Hua delegation demonstrated exceptional talent and teamwork throughout the competition.

Zamboanga Chong Hua High School continues to strengthen its reputation for excellence in campus journalism. The victory serves as a reminder of the power of student passion, perseverance, and mentorship.

Zamboanga Chong Hua High School (ZCHHS), together with personnel from the Zamboanga City Central Fire Station, held a fire drill to educate students on proper fire safety protocols at 9:40 a.m. on November 28, 2025.

Students from 6-Palm, 7-Rizal, and 12-Mendel were able to get hands-on experience with firefighting equipment, including operating the fire hose and exploring the fire truck.

The activity gave students a chance to learn and see the different tools firefighters use during emergencies.

The drill aimed to prepare students and faculty for possible emergencies while educating them on proper evacuation procedures.

Zamboanga Chong Hua High School (ZCHHS) student Francina Tejada has advanced to the Area Stage (AS) of the 28th Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO), a competition held at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University on October 18, 2025.

Over 5,900 students nationwide participated in the Qualifying Stage exam, and only 294 were able to move on to the Area Stage, with Tejada among those who successfully earned a spot.

The Area Stage of the 28th PMO is scheduled for December 13, 2025, bringing together the countryโ€™s top young mathematicians from various schools to compete in challenging problems and demonstrate their exceptional analytical abilities.

Tejada's accomplishment highlights her outstanding academic performance in one of the nationโ€™s most prestigious mathematics competitions. Her success serves as a source of pride for ZCHHS, as she brings honor to the school and the local community on the national stage.

Zamboanga Chong Hua High School (ZCHHS) marked another strong showing in the District Meet at Sta. Barbara Elementary School, edging out a bronze-place finish after a string of hard-fought matches from Thursday to Saturday. The team opened with commanding wins: a 2โ€“0 sweep against Victorian Community International School and a 2โ€“1 win over Global Technical School of Zamboanga, before falling short in their most crucial match against St. Joseph, 1โ€“2, and closing with another narrow loss to Canelar Integrated School, 1โ€“2.

Though the run ended, ZCHHS walked away with pride after standout players Kennedy Rojas and Ranzel Vhinz Baco impressed and were officially recruited by St. Joseph for the Division Meet. Their standout performances and unwavering composure under pressure proved that ZCHHSโ€™s spirit goes beyond the scoreboard, marking them as players to watch in the next stage of competition.

Zamboanga Chong Hua High Schoolโ€™s (ZCHHS) Edwin Saipudin castled his ticket to the Division Meet after a commanding stand at the District Chess Meet held Thursday at St. Joseph School, clinching a third-place finish against 11 contenders after a series of upsets and hard-fought boards.

Saipudin spearheaded ZCHHSโ€™ campaign with a 3โ€“1โ€“1 record, bouncing back from an early setback and sealing crucial wins through precise openings and calculated endgames.

On the other board, Charles Canda fought valiantly, landing sixth overall with a 3โ€“2 card, holding his ground against top-seeded opponents in a tightly contested field.

โ€œTo those I played against today, thank you; every move, every silence, every idea across the board reminded me why I love this game,โ€ Saipudin said.

With momentum in his favor, Saipudin now advances to the Division Meet, ready to face sharper competitions for ZCHHS.

Zamboanga Chong Hua High School (ZCHHS) proudly claimed first runner-up in the โ€œBreaking the Balance: The 1st AdZU-SHS ABM Inter-School Quiz Bowl Competitionโ€ held at Ateneo de Zamboanga University on October 25.

Representing ZCHHS, Arrianne R. Bucoy and Charlene Joy D. Ducallas from Grade 12-Morgan demonstrated extensive knowledge and mastery of Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) concepts throughout the competition. Their impressive performance against top-performing ABM students from various schools in the city secured them a well-deserved spot on the podium.

Regional Science High School for Region IX took home the championship title, followed by Don Pablo Lorenzo High School Stand-Alone Senior High School and Ayala National High School, which both tied for second runner-up.

This outstanding achievement was made possible through the guidance of their coach, Jusper Gerson T. Lahaman, CPA, whose mentorship played a crucial role in the teamโ€™s success.

Organized by the AdZU Senior High School Department, the competition aimed to promote academic excellence in the ABM strand and foster healthy competition among participating schools.

A day packed with fun and excitement! The SHS Sci-Math Club of Zamboanga Chong Hua High School, together with their adviser, Mr. Jay Gabata, successfully held their Culminating Day celebration. From the hype-filled yell competition that jump-started the morning to the chaotic fun of bingo and the laughter from the sn**ch game, the event was nothing short of thrilling.
