In a night of silver, blue, and gold, love was commemorated by Zamboanga Chong Hua Senior High School last March 15, 2024, through their special promenade. As friends, lovers, and mates prepare to bid each other farewell into the vast sea of darkness ahead, students leave each other with bright heavy hearts filled with memories that will guide us through life, like shimmering stars amidst the night sky.
Friends and strangers alike sit around each other, engaging in greetings before conversations as anticipation and excitement are shared amongst our grins. Through chatter and laughter, I shift my gaze to the silver drapes that wave across the ceiling, and I realize how similar we are to those drapes. They begin as pure white cloths, before mixing with silver dust, creating the mesmerizing hue that shimmers under the starry night sky. I look over and see exactly that; here we are, as grown-ups dressed in glittering suits and dresses talking about grades, gossip, and games, when talks used to be of toys, fun, andโฆ still games. We may have grown older, but our inner child never left; itโs still there, just mixed in with all the other stuff. And itโs also this โother stuffโ that shaped who we are, and who we are to become. Like silver, we shine with brilliance, but we must also not forget the โwhite cloth,โ the innocent child that carries the memories of who we once were.

As we wrap up the Literacy Month celebration, let us carry the new knowledge we acquired and the bond we created with our fellow literacy enthusiasts throughout this journey.
