Get Cozy ☕️ with Enneagram Ones. I know it’s still pretty hot outside, but I am READY FOR FALL!! So I asked you all what “cozy” looked like for you.

A note on Type Ones and coziness: coziness is best achieved when you are able to quiet your mind (ie. the constant list of tasks) and when you are in a clean space. A lot of Ones sent me DMs saying they have trouble with coziness because it feels “messy” or they can’t shut off their brain.

So, Type Ones who enjoy coziness, how have you learned to embrace the cozy? Help us doers out here 😅

I'm a little late with the February book recs, but they're here with some absolute GEMS! All black authors this month, and I want to also shout out ALL of N.K. Jeminsin's books. I wanted to include here, but I've already put her in past book rec posts. If you love fantasy, please pick up her Broken Earth series ⁠

1- The Hate U Give⁠: This is a "stay up all night to finish it" kind of book. It deals with a teen girl who witnesses her friend get shot by an officer. What she does (or does not) say could forever alter her community. ⁠

2- Black Cake⁠: Recommended by MULTIPLE Type 2s in my DMs. I haven't read this one, but it is a NYT Bestseller and a NYT Editors' choice!⁠

3- An American Marriage⁠: "Much of life is timing and circumstance, I see that now." A beautifully written novel about a marriage on the brink of disaster.⁠

4- The Poet X⁠: 4s, you will thank me later. "A young girl in Harlem discovers slam poetry as a way to understand her mother’s religion and her own relationship to the world. Debut novel of renowned slam poet Elizabeth Acevedo."⁠

5- Between the World and Me⁠: A nonfiction book, written as a letter to the author's teenage son about the feelings, symbolism, and realities associated with being Black in the United States. ⁠

6- Brown Girl Dreaming: "Even the silence has a story to tell you. Just listen." An honest and moving memoir written in verse by Jacqueline Woodson.⁠

7- Skin of the Sea: 🧜‍♀️ BLACK MERMAID FANTASY SERIES. Need I say more?? I'm listening to this on Libby and the only word I can use to describe it is lush. ⁠

8-Blood like Magic⁠: "A rich, dark urban fantasy debut following a teen witch who is given a horrifying task: sacrificing her first love to save her family's magic."⁠

Last week, I posted a YouTube video sharing my reaction of listening to the Enneagram songs for the first time. (I know I'm late to the party) I was not expecting to start crying within the first song and then totally break down when it came to my Enneagram type. The hype around these songs is deserved. It brings color, complexity, and humanity to the Enneagram in a way that only music can do. Here are some of my favorite lyrics from each song. Love to you all!!!
