Hey. I made this NHS 'Start For Life' film just before Christmas. I animated everything between 25 and 70 seconds.

Luke Robinson animated the lovely Lego bookend sections. Concept art by the super Gareth Davies / David Gregory. Illustration by David Gregory Artworks.

🚨 🎤 Today's the launch of our wonderful show ' Rap Tales', which is available now on all Sky Kids platforms and NowTV. It also has the 19:15pm timeslot after Tom Gates every day on the channel, with a 17:00 repeat starting from Tuesday.

This unique show retells classic fairy tails in a contemporary world via the Grammar gang and their Rap Club. Every episode is a standalone musical.

It was an incredibly fun and challenging task directing a musical. But and I are really happy with how it turned out. This was down to the amazing team of animators, storyboard artists and illustrators and the guys a Studio43.

We hope you love the show as much as we do x

👋 I'm so glad that we can finally share what we've been working on for nearly a year... A new musical series for Sky Kids with the main man .

'Rap Tales' is a contemporary retelling of classic fairy tales set in modern times, performed solely through songs. It features an amazing young cast and brilliant tracks written and performed by - and music-produced by .

I've directed the show with - we're currently working really hard and ploughing through post production on the last few episodes. Exciting.

The show's produced by our partner in crime and animated by the amazing team at Studio43. We lucked out massively to have such an incredible illustration, rigging, storyboard and animation team from start to finish. The show looks so good because of all of these people.

Rap Tales will air later in the year on Sky Kids (streaming/channel) and NowTV. We're really proud of it and can't wait for you to watch!

😳 I still can’t believe I am writing this, crew. MC Grammar is officially a cartoon! A fully-animated me. Look! The hat, shades, creps and chain! The whole shabang! Rapping, singing, dancing, acting…you name it! Wow. 🤩 Rewind to four years ago, if someone said ‘Yo! You’re going to be a cartoon one day on Sky Kids!’ — I would have replied, ‘Are you feeling alright?’ Serious! BUT here we are…and I can finally reveal that ‘Rap Tales’ will be on your screens on Sky Kids this autumn (Sky Kids crew: you are amazing! I love all of you • Ian and Lucy, what can I say 😘). These reimagined fairytales have been carefully crafted by the legend & myself and then weaved into a stack of smashing tracks and bangin’ beats all produced and put together by the main man . — backed by our visual dream team and the kids. Oh, the kids, our cast: B Girl, Harmony, Gadget and Skratch. Too much talent — and the BEST thing: the world will agree, I have no doubt!

What’s next? You have to see it, sing along, rap / rhyme and pump the riddims in your car, living rooms, bedrooms, headphones — wherever whenever! Oh, and each song has its only musical genre and story too! I’m just so so proud, and super gassed that now I’m a cartoon I will never get old too! Boooya! 🥳

Synopsis:
Fortina-2, a peaceful planet inhabited by the Chro, is being threatened with extinction. A mission to a distant and desolate planet is the only chance of survival. A mission of such importance as well as its burdens will lie on the shoulders of one brave Chro. Fortina-2 is a Science Fiction story about acceptance, duty and loneliness.

This short film was made during the 2020 lockdowns for no budget - it's best viewed on a big screen. There's stuff I'd definitely approach quite differently now, visually and narratively, but I'm proud of it nonetheless.

So far we've made 24 episodes of tele/music videos for the awesome MC Grammar, all of which we're very proud of and think are great. However, this one from Wonder Raps Series 2 is one of our favourites and worth posting a link to on /

'The Chill Out Song' is about children's mental health - kids love it and we think it's rather lovely as grown ups too.
