My first make for someone else was this hacked Indigo dress for my Mum.

I LOVE this tartan from but honestly I found it so hard to work with, it frayed really easily! The end result is worth it though 🤩

I made a few changes to the original pattern: my Mum wanted a v-neck rather than rounded so I changed the neckline and also the pattern piece for the front facing. I used the sleeve pattern piece for the flounce sleeve but left off the flounce to get the length she wanted and also made the skirt piece longer so it was the same length as the skirt from the add on pattern, minus the ruffle!

I’m pleased with the end result, and more importantly, so is my Mum 😊

This has been such a popular fabric and I’ve loved seeing what people have made from it! Have you used this rainbow tartan to make anything?
