Detroak

Detroak 是來自印尼的噪音藝術家，由 Tanaya Sompit 自
2014年開始創作噪音及工業音樂。受達達主義、rawdeath metal 和 grindcore 影響，至今出版數十張專輯及多張本地split 作品。2016年底開始現場演出電子工業音樂，其專輯 Binary Renegade 涉獵到現場鼓擊混合金屬素材的形式，讓他問歇性地在抽象化的專輯之外啟動一系列固意節奏化的出品。Detroak 的創作源自他對 HanBellmer 作品的喜愛，當中承載着神秘學色情和戀物癖的概念。Detroak 是 dollification engine 首個字母的縮寫，用於重現強迫症攻擊性殺手。
Detroak is a noise artist from Indonesia who has produced in the form of noise/ industrial since 2014 by Tanaya Sompit. Has released dozens of albums and has released several split albums with local and influenced by Dadaism art and raw death metal and grindcore. He began using live industrial electronics at the end of
2016. Binary Renegade (2016) exposed him to live format with metal material with drum, kicked off a series of more intentionally rhythmic releases that continue intermittently alongside more abstract albums.
The creation of Detroak’s work was based on his fondness of Han Bellmer’s works with ideas about occult eroticism and doll fetishism. Detroak is an acronym from dollification engine to recreate obsessive aggressive killer.

以代號 To Die 為人所知的 Indra Menus 是印尼日惹的地下音樂藝術家和組織者。1998年他啟動硬核龐克樂隊 ToDie，後來演變成他以 drone 和 ambient noise 演奏聲樂作品的個人項目。他的歌詞受個人生活、印尼局勢及個人政治觀強烈影響。2009年Indra 發起日惹實驗噪音團體Jogia Noise Bombing，組織一年一度的噪音節 JogiaNoise Bombing Festival。多年來他一直活躍在獨立音樂界，組織 Kongsi Jahat Syndicate、獨立廠牌 DoggyHouse Records、同人誌檔案庫 Zine Attak，並為東南亞音樂雜誌《Shock & Awe》撰稿。Indra 同時經營2002年成立的 Relamati Records，專注發行異端音樂的卡式帶、黑膠和CD•

Indra Menus, better known by his stage name To Die, is a musician, organiser and promoter in Yogyakarta’s underground scene. He started the To Die project in 1998 as a band playing an offshoot of hardcore punk music. To Die later evolved into his solo project, playing vocal compositions with drone and ambient noise. His lyrics often have a strong element of influence from his personal life, the situation in Indonesia and also personal opinions that tend to be political. Indra is also active in the independent music scene as an organiser, Kongsi Jahat Syndicate; booking agent, YK Booking; manager of independent record label, Doggy House Records; and active in the zine archives with Jogjakarta Zine Attak!. In 2009, he became one of the initiators of Jogja Noise Bombing, a noise and experimental music collective in Yogyakarta. He also writes for a Southeast Asian music magazine called Shock & Awe magazine.
Among his many activities in the underground music scene,
Indra runs Relamati Records, an independent label founded in 2002 that focuses on releasing extreme and weird music on cassette, vinyl and CD.

On 16th March 2024, Mouhoi and 20a join forces again to present two Indonesian noise artist Indra Menus( )and Detroak( )who are currently on tour with ‘NOISE IS SERIOUS SH*T!’ a film documenting Indonesian noise scene produced by Jogja Noise Bombing ( ). Two local noise acts will share the stage with them, Non-presence( ) and a duo, Idada and *.°☆!Mechanical Cannibal Angel Crusade! ☆°.* ( and ).

A night of harsh psychedelia delivered through outrageously loud speakers is to be expected from Twenty Alpha. More info on artists in the coming days.

“Scarlet for me, Scarlet for you” is ’s latest recording presented to you in cassette format.Audio and Cassette will go live on Sunday. I have been struggle for quite sometime to come up with an adequate description for this release. Sun’s approach in noise making on this release is quite interesting, mainly using a turntable and a tape measure as sound source. The recording is raw and direct, straight from the source, there are beautiful repetitions and silence and moments of chaos.

Cheng Daoyuan - Consumed Leadens

Cheng Daoyuan is back with Consumed Leadens, his most private and intimate release after his debut album in 2019.
Cheng described the concept behind this release as “The Hybrid-death of Pieces from Past Which Buried in Grey”. Cheng spent years excavating from memories that were long been washed away, revisited with dissimulated perspectives, to make the final farewell of his selfhood.
Diverging from his previous harsh and apocalypse style, Cheng layered the emotions with atonality melodies, abstract pace, distorted vocals and deformation of field recordings, to construct an endless cycle of amnesty. Consumed Leadens reveals Cheng’s tenuous yet sophisticated side of his latest sonic exploration. Through ‘Fatelock’ for example, Cheng created Implicit and restrained ways of noise making that are filled with grotesque yet intricating usage of electronics and feedback, with occasion anonymous muttering that immerses you into a cinematic soundscape.

The two remixers brought the originals to the other end of the axis, aircode placed uncanny tensions in ‘Thus, Other Craving Continues’ that dissolve into astatic grooves while Alley Catss recreates ‘Absence of Substance’ in a dim and ethereal theme using destructive beats.

Mouhoi is proud to present “Topography” by Augenblick.

Augenblick is composed of Anton Ponomarev and Li Xing. Li, whose musical influences include serialism, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, and free jazz, is Augenblick’s guitarist, while Pomonarev, whose work operates in the fields of free improvised music, experimental sound, and noise, is Augenblick’s saxophonist.

The pair met in Basel, Switzerland while working on separate projects at a music residency. From there, Augenblick was born from a mutual curiosity of each other’s practice. After a full day in the studio with Li, on guitar and effects, and Ponomarev, on untreated bass clarinet and saxophone, “Topography” drives through moments of drone, improvisation, and structured sounds.
