We were happy to support Dorset Green Party making campaign videos for the Dorset Council and Weymouth Town Council Elections. We created videos for 6 candidates... discussing local issues including youth services, water pollution, flooding, bus services and housing. Here's a little snippet...

It's Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2024!

Depending on how our brains are wired we all think, move, process information and communicate in different ways. Many people use neurodiversity as an umbrella term used to describe alternative thinking styles such as Dyslexia, DCD (Dyspraxia), Dyscalculia, Autism and ADHD. But regardless of labels, neurodiversity is about recognising those who think differently. And no matter whether you are a school, university or organisation you can definitely benefit from different thinkers.

Approximately 15-20% of population has a neurological difference. When we label people with deficits or disorders the focus is often on the challenges rather than the many strengths and talents of neurodivergent individuals.

Let’s keep our minds open to always learning and understanding more. And seeing beyond labels to appreciate, embrace and make the most of everyone’s unique strengths, abilities and personalities.

Communication matters

Filming on Friday was in Weymouth & Portland. The issue of the day is sewage and what happens to it once we flush.

This involved a group of Dorset green campaigners taking some executives from Wessex Water on a tour of a small section our beautiful Jurassic coastline. However all is not as it should be. Along the coast there are numerous outlets that can offload non-fully treated sewage if the system is overloaded. This happens mostly when it rains a lot. Our combined sewers shouldn’t really be combined - sewage with rainwater. How many hours the overflows happen for is partly monitored and recorded but sewerage overflow is causing bacteria in our water which is potentially harmful for wildlife and swimmers. One outlet (not used but available if needed) was right on the Fleet lagoon SSSI and oyster beds. Water quality is also monitored in the “bathing season” but not all year round when a lot of people do actually still take a swim. Brrhhh. People can and do get very sick from poor quality water.
So along the way we discussed our poo and what should happen to it. It was very much agreed that it needs to be properly treated. But in order to do so we’ll need to upgrade our systems. Who should pay and should the shareholders of Wessex Water be enjoying a dividend (the green stuff) whilst the brown stuff is still hitting our beaches?

Wessex Water then attended a public meeting on Portland where the problem was debated - a good turn out of concerned local people for a Friday evening. No answers but communication matters.

Our first shoot of 2024 all done. It was freezing 🥶 but great to be working with a new client – Weymouth College.

Our crew spent 2 days shooting content for the MMC (Modern Methods of Construction) course. The course explains the methods of MMC and the benefits for the residential sector including improved efficiency, sustainability and reduced lifetime costs.

An interesting shoot in multiple locations in Dorset including a factory and social housing construction site. We captured GVs, pieces to camera and even some drone footage.
Chilly conditions but some beautiful views so worth it.

A few Christmas drinks, some tasty food, paramedics and a conga. A successful Redshark night out in Soho, revisiting our old haunts and showing Raff where it all began almost 30 years ago.

We’ve won another 3 year contract with the University of Kent, to continue filming their Graduation ceremonies in Canterbury and Rochester Cathedrals. We film the ceremonies with multiple cameras, vision mix live to large screens for the audience and stream live to youtube. We been doing it for 14 years now but it’s always a pleasure working with the Kent Uni Congregations team... and we still enjoy sharing the buzz and excitement of the special day with the students and their families and friends.
