The original concept for a Jewish state was pushed by Imperial Britain who wanted to create a buffer zone between British occupied Egypt and the Ottoman turks.

The beginnings of this process saw a mass rise up of Palestinians which was put down with merciless cruelty by British Colonial forces. During this period, the first training and arming of Zionist militias began; their creation meant to serve as a bulwark against the "Arab horde."

Some of the first substantial backers of the Zionist movement were Christian Evangelicals, who in the return of the Jews to Zion saw the promised second coming of Christ, and an ending of the world, where upon the righteous would be saved and all Jews would burn in hell.

Another substantial backer of the Zionist project was N**i Germany; who, prior to the holocaust, actively advocated for the relocation of German Jews to historic Palestine as a part of their process of ethnic cleansing.

The N**i government instituted laws where upon German Jews could emigrate to Palestine while keeping a portion of their property and wealth. This policy would lead to a mass emigration which put wealthier and more skilled Jews in positions of power in a region of the world where the poverty of their new Arab neighbors was the norm.

This power difference would later be used to press the Zionist project by garnering political clout and resources in Palestine. In the same line, this mass exodus effectively shattered the anti-N**i movement in Germany and surrounding countries, which allowed the N**is to cement their power unchecked.

As the British pulled out of Palestine at the end of WWII, with the now massive demographic changes of Palestine in place, the U.S. picked up the mantle of the Zionist project.

Having shut their doors to Jewish refugees, the U.S. insisted on Jews emigrating to Palestine, a process which was again backed by the arming and training of Zionist militias, as well as the provision of financial resources for Jewish settlers. By the end of 1947, these militias had begun the process of ethnic cleansing known as the Nakba, or "Catastrophe" in Arabic.

Zionism is a far right extremist political ideology rooted in Jewish Supremacy and a deeply twisted reading of scripture. Some of the first push back against the Zionist movement came from Jewish spiritual scholars and their followers who insisted that "the return to Zion" had to come as an act of God, not as a political movement. They viewed the Zionist project as irredeemably blasphemous.

Today, millions of Jewish people around the world stand united in the struggle against Zionism. They recognize the project for what it is: the exact form of settler-colonialism, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing which had been laid upon their own people for millennia.

Standing with Palestine is not anti-semitic; it is the Zionist project which has always been anti-semitic; both in its mutilation of Jewish scripture, and in its unabashed cruelty against ALL Semitic peoples living in historic Palestine.

This is the history they won't tell you on the news. This is the truth. Don't let them lie you into supporting genocide. See less
