Having read the manuscript, I was afforded the rare privilege of writing the Foreword to a memoir of a dear friend, Siile Matela.
To say that I found the work penned by Siile himself riveting, would be an understatement. I was simply mesmerized.
I highly recommend “THE DOOR” which, I am reliably informed, can be ordered as a hard copy online at this stage, and later in store.
While the Foreword, replicated for convenience, goes some way to imparting my sentiment, I don’t think it goes far enough.

Stopped by the “white blocks“ in Laudium
over the weekend when I fortuitously met and reacquainted myself with an old talent from the “location“, Krish Naidoo (aka Masala) lead singer of the local band from the hood “Flood”.
The group, to my knowledge, had one commercially successful single that reached number 1 and charted on the (then) Springbok Radio for 17 weeks during 1976.
This prompted me to dig up the hit
“Let me into your Life“, long forgotten in some circles.
Worth a listen. Also offers a snapshot of the sound of the time.
Can I please have a hand for Masala and his band Flood.
