Error of century by Mr. Governor

I mistakenly signed away Ogun multibillion-naira trade zone to dubious Chinese investors, Ibikunle Amosun confesses

Former Governor Ibikunle Amosun on Saturday said he was deceived into handing over a free trade facility in Ogun State to an investment group from China, introducing a disturbing dimension to the ongoing legal battle that threatens the depletion of Nigeria’s assets abroad.

Mr Amosun, governor of the southwestern Nigerian state from 2011 to 2019, admitted in a statement personally signed by him that he didn’t do even a cursory assessment of facts before asking a Chinese team to take over the Ogun-Guandong Free Trade Zone in 2012. His decision marked the onset of a protracted legal crisis that led to aggrieved Chinese investors’ recent targeting of Nigeria’s assets in Europe and the United States.

The free trade zone was conceived in 2007 between Ogun State under Governor Gbenga Daniel and Guangdong Xinguang International China Africa Investment Ltd (or China Africa) to facility seamless trade between Nigeria and China in Igbesa, Ogun State. China Africa, the major investor at 60 per cent of the stake, was developing the 10,000 hectares facility when, in 2012, a year after Mr Amosun assumed office, another firm that identified itself as Zhongfu International Investment Ltd came in with tales about how the place was being poorly administered and thereafter sought to manage it.

Mr Amosun, in his statement, said he subsequently asked Zhongfu investors to take over as the interim managers of the trade zone before his administration could find time to investigate the allegations.

“Zhongfu International Investment FXE, pretending to be a concerned and genuine tenant and Zone stakeholder, volunteered very damaging and destructive information about the official representatives of Guangdong Province, the Joint Venturer and lawful Zone Managers, China Africa Investment FXE and subsequently requested to be appointed as Interim Zone Managers.

“Based on the information at the government’s disposal at the time, Zhongfu International Investment FXE was appointed interim zone manager on March 15, 2012, pending further evaluation. The whole idea was to ensure that someone was in charge and thereby prevent unwholesome and untoward development in the zone pending the completion of our fact-finding exercise.

“It was later discovered that the information and claims volunteered by Zhongfu International Investment FXE against China Africa Investment FXE were tissues of lies.

“Unknown to Ogun government at the time, Zhongfu International Investment FXE merely sought to de-market China Africa Investment FXE and to surreptitiously covert the state-owned assets of Guangdong Province in China together with the zone ownership and management rights of their business rival,” Mr Amosun said.
The former governor said Chinese authorities later directly intervened through several notes from the country’s mission in Nigeria.

“It was further discovered – much later – through the intervention of the Chinese Government via Diplomatic Note 1601, dated March 11, 2016,” Mr Amosun said, saying the Chinese government told him the company he had terminated was the rightful owner of the investment.

Mr Amosun said that after he ousted Zhongfu International Investment, the company approached Nigerian courts in different jurisdictions to ventilate its legal and business rights but lost all four cases filed. He didn’t list out the cases.

Consequently, the former governor urged the federal government and Ogun State to continue desisting from entering into any resolutions that would benefit Zhongfu.

“Nigeria should not give Zhongfu International Investment FXE any listening ear as doing so would amount to indulging and, encouraging an unlawful entity without locus standi to appropriate our common patrimon,”.

What life teach us

"I don't even know why I married ADEKUNLE GOLD. He destroyed the Chemistry that I had with FALZ though nothing was going on between FALZ and I.

Before ADEKUNLE GOLD met me, I had never had $ex in my life before. ADEKUNLE GOLD proposed to me like 10 days before my 31 birthday. I think he wanted to propose to me on my birthday but he was going to be out of town on my birthday so he proposed to me before my birthday. He missed like 3 of my birthdays in row, I don't even know why I married him. There was nothing going on between FALZ and I but ADEKUNLE GOLD destroyed our Chemistry by marrying me and to this day, I don't even know why I married him”. - SIMI

Can we really replace this words

COMMON WORDS NIGERIANS USE EVERYDAY, BUT WHICH DON'T EXIST

1. Go-slow: When Nigerians say go-slow, they mean congested traffic. The meaning of go-slow in the English dictionary is, a form of industrial action in which work or progress is deliberately delayed or slowed down.
Stop saying go-slow please.

2. Disvirgin: This word is used on a daily basis by many Nigerians when they intend to say a woman has lost her virginity. There is no word like disvirgin. The correct word to use is deflower. Disvirgin simply does not exist.

3. Trafficate: Nigerians use the word to describe a situation where a driver indicates to other drivers that he/she wants to take a turn. It is used so often, that it has started to sound like proper English. The right word is 'highlight'.

4. Flashing: Every Nigerian knows “flashing” to mean when someone calls your mobile phone and cuts off before you answer. The word ‘flash’ is so common among Nigerians and its used at least once daily by many. Flash has different meanings but none has anything to do with a phone call. The word doesn’t exist in that sense in English. The right word is 'beep'.

5. Installmentally: Don’t be tempted to use the word ‘installmentally’. Though it sounds correct, it isn’t. There is no such word in the English dictionary as it exists only in the Nigerian edition of English language. The correct thing to say is ‘in installments’.

6. Opportuned: What exists in English dictionaries is ‘opportune,’ without ‘d’ at the end. Opportune means ‘timely’ or ‘well-time, especially convenient or appropriate for a particular action or event. Opportuned is only common in Nigerian English.

7. C***y: This is a word which Nigerians use to describe someone that is being deceitful or crafty. The right word is cunning not c***y.

8. Next tomorrow: Most Nigerians generally use “next tomorrow” but there is not such word as next tomorrow. Instead you should say, “a day after tomorrow."

9. Packer: Nigerians probably got the word from pack. The right word is dustpan. Since dustpan packs dirt, Nigerians like to call it packer.

10. Pepperish: It is common to hear Nigerians describe a meal that has too much pepper in it as pepperish. The proper word should be ‘peppery’. No native English speaker uses the word pepperish” to describe the burning sensation we feel from eating pepper.

❌Don't be fooled, there's nothing called Nigerian English. You either speak American English or British English. And since we were colonized by Britain, our official language is British English.

So keep in mind that no one would pardon your bad grammar in a professional or educational setting because you are ignorant.

Learning continues...😅😅

When you believe you can, then you will

"The worst moment in my career was related to my departure from Real Madrid. I felt humiliated. I was going to the training ground, and when I arrived, I found my locker empty and all my belongings on the side.

I went to talk to the president. He didn't give me much time and just told me that I no longer fit into their plans and that they wanted to win the Champions League.

Before leaving his office, I told him:

'Sir, know that wherever I go, I will play to win.'

Two days later, Mourinho called me. I think he got my cell phone number from Chivu. I didn't know him personally before. He said to me:

'Wesley, I know your situation there is tough. Come to Inter and together we will win everything.'

With Mourinho, it was love at first sight. He assured me that I was one of the most important players on his team and that together we would win the Champions League. Maybe he did that with everyone, but believe me, a year with him is worth ten years with anyone else.

How did it end? You know... I won the Champions League at their stadium. I put the trophy in front of my locker and said... I always keep my promises. It was the best moment of my career."

ROLLS-ROYS WAS ONCE USED AS GARBAGE COLLECTION CAR IN THE 1930s..UNTIL THEY SAID SORRY😀😀

The Story of an Indian King Who Bought Rolls Royce Cars and Used Them For Garbage in the 1930s

The world’s most famous car brand Rolls-Royce is also associated with Rajasthan. A famous buyer of this car was the Maharaja of Alwar. He always bought three automobiles at a time.

One day during his visit to London, Maharaja Jai Singh was walking in casual dress on Bond Street. He saw a Rolls Royce showroom and went inside to inquire about the price and features of their cars. The showroom salesmen thought he was a poor Indian. They insulted him and showed him the way out.

After this insult, Maharaja came back to his hotel room and asked his servants to call the showroom that the Maharaja of Alwar was interested in purchasing a few cars.

After a few hours, the Maharaja reached the Rolls Royce showroom again but in full royal regalia wearing his royal costume. The showroom had a red carpet on the floor to welcome the Maharaja and all the salesmen bowed before him with respect. The Maharaja purchased all the six cars that they had at the showroom at that time and paid the full amount with delivery costs.

After reaching India, Maharaja ordered municipal department to use all those six Rolls Royce cars for cleaning and transporting city’s waste.

The world’s number one Rolls Royce cars were being used for transportation of Alwar city’s waste. The news spread all over the world and the reputation of Rolls Royce Company became a laughing stock.

Whenever someone used to boast in Europe or America that he owned a Rolls Royce, people used to laugh saying, “which one? The same that is used in India for carrying the waste of the city?” After the severe damage to reputation, sales of Rolls Royce cars dropped rapidly and the revenue of the company showed a decline.

The Rolls Royce company owners sent a telegram to the Maharaja in India offering apologies and requested him to stop transportation of waste in Rolls Royce cars. Not only this, they also offered six new cars to the Maharaja free of cost. When Maharaja Jai Singh observed that the Rolls Royce company had learnt a lesson, he stopped using those cars for carrying waste.

The fact still remains that HE remember

Nigerians have been paying homage to Mike Ejeagha, the highlife artist behind the viral sound used in Brain Jotter’s dance. 😍😍

The 92-year-old musician has been receiving cash gifts, with some unconfirmed reports suggesting that Brain Jotter even gave him a car.

“Gwo Gwo Gwo” was popular in the 70s and 80s, telling the story of how the tortoise tricked his friend the elephant into believing the King wanted him (the elephant) to be the chairman of his Ofala festival, leading to the song’s title, “Ka esi le onye isi oche” (how the chairman was sold).

The cunning tortoise’s real goal was to marry the King’s daughter, who demanded an elephant as a condition for marriage.

Thing I love to see ❤️❤️❤️

Legend never died

Chinua Achebe was a novelist. Wole Soyinka is a playwright. I know most of you didn’t know this, but there is really no basis for comparison between the two. It’s like comparing Sunny Ade and Oliver De Coque because they are both singers.

Chinua Achebe also deserved the Nobel Prize no doubt, but he never won it. Wole Soyinka won it in 1986. That award has been in existence since 1901. If the award committee wanted to give it to Chinua Achebe, they would have given him the prize long before Soyinka won it in 1986. Achebe died in 2013 - 27 solid years after Soyinka won the prize. The committee still didn’t give him the award; and you are here saying Soyinka “stole” the award that Achebe should have received...

Chinua Achebe himself never lamented not receiving the prize because, believe it or not, the Nobel Prize, or any award for that matter, is not the true measure of achievement for a writer. No African novel has sold more copies and has been translated into as many languages as “Things Fall Apart”.

To measure Achebe’s accomplishments by whether he won the Nobel Prize or not belittles his work and insults his memory.

Incidentally, this same Wole Soyinka wrote in 2013: "This conduct is gross disservice to Chinua Achebe and disrespectful of the life-engrossing occupation known as literature. How did creative valuation descend to such banality? Do these people know what they're doing – they are inscribing Chinua's epitaph in the negative mode of thwarted expectations. I find that disgusting. Was it the Nobel that spurred a young writer, stung by Eurocentric portrayal of African reality, to put pen to paper and produce Things Fall Apart?"

You lot should leave literature alone for those of us who know its true worth, please. You all don’t read anyway. Why the sudden interest in who was a better writer as if you have bought or read any of their books?

Drag prof if you want to drag him...just leave Chinua Achebe’s name out of such frivolous comments, and let the dead continue to rest in peace, while we keep clapping for Jesus.

The term to use in this case

Gary Coleman's parents actually took all of his money that he made from Diff'rent Strokes tv show. By the time he sued his parents, they had no money left. Coleman ended up working as a security guard for the final years of his life.

He sued his adoptive parents, Willie and Sue Coleman, over misappropriation and the pilfering of his trust fund in 1989. At the peak of his career in the early 1980s, in addition to movie and TV appearances, he made $70,000 per episode of "Diff'rent Strokes", a total of around $18 million in earnings! Coleman's parents set up a trust fund for his money, yet they carefully structured the arrangement to name themselves as paid employees of Coleman's production company so they could live off Coleman's salary.

When the court finally dissolved the trust fund in 1986 upon Coleman turning 18, his parents' share was worth $770,000, while Coleman himself had only $220,000. Coleman then successfully sued both his parents and managers for $3.8 million in losses and won a $1,280,000 settlement. Afterward, Coleman (feeling used and betrayed) never saw or spoke to his foster parents or former accountants and managers ever again.

Gary Coleman and Dixie Carter both died in 2010, a little over a month apart. Carter died of endometrial cancer on April 10 at the age of 70. Coleman died of an epidural hematoma on May 28 at the age of 42.

The brain hemorrhage that eventually led to his death, was a result of a fall at his home in Utah (on May 26th) that put him into a coma. His ex-wife Shannon Price, who was with him at his home at the time of the fall, made the 911 call. It was also Price who eventually made the decision to take Coleman off life support

Once upon a time

I WAS LURED INTO ACTING WITH A BOTTLE OF COCA-COLA — VETERAN ACTOR KAYODE OLAIYA [ADERUPOKO]

His real name is Kayode Olaiya, but many people call him Aderupoko, a name which literally means someone who overloads a vehicle. He has been known by this name for over thirty years as a professional actor, and he believes that the name, which he initially disliked, was ultimately a blessing in disguise. Aderupoko, who insisted on conducting the interview in Yoruba, shared how he got his stage name and journey into acting.

Your real name is Kayode Olaiya, but many people call you Aderupoko. How did you come about your stage name?
I think I should ask you how you got to know that I am Kayode Olaiya. The story behind the name Aderupoko is long, but I'll share it if time allows. I started my career with Western Nigeria Television (WNTV) and Western Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (WNBC), the first in Africa, at Agodi in Ibadan as a storyteller. It was a live program, and we went on air between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. when the late sage Obafemi Awolowo introduced TV. Where the Oyo State Government House stands today used to be a bushy area. My friends and I often went there to pluck mangoes and hew trees. I was a student then. One day, while we were returning from plucking mangoes, a man approached us and asked if we could tell stories. We were about eight, but all my friends ran away except me. He called me over, and to my surprise, he asked if I could bring my friends to tell evening stories. I agreed and was responsible for relaying the message to my friends. Eventually, the late Hubert Ogunde came in for a stage performance called Olo ngbo Dudu (Black Cat).

How did those people ensure that you stayed? Did they entice you in any way?
Yes, I remember that we only drank soft drinks like Coca-Cola and Fanta during festive seasons like Christmas and Ileya. They ensured we had a bottle of Fanta or Coca-Cola each time we came so that we would keep returning. We became so happy that we hardly missed a day because we knew we would get to drink Coca-Cola and Fanta. Even my friends who initially didn't like the idea later joined us because of Coca-Cola. Besides drinks, we were also given money. I remember we received one pound, which we shared among ourselves

The so called bread winners

When Wizkid made money , he called all his brothers for a meeting . Asked all of them what they wanted to do , all of them gave business plans and he gave them twice the capital and wished them good luck .

Wiz knew he is a busy person and sometimes his brothers and sisters might need money , call him and he is unreachable. He didn’t want them to ever feel like he made money and left them so he decided to empower them .

When you make money , don’t turn your brothers or cousins into house helps , don’t keep them at a level where they’ll constantly and consistently beg from you .

Why I Relocated To America, Converted To Christianity- Adewale Ayuba.

Fuji maestro Adewale Ayuba, also known as Mr Johnson, has shared the reasons behind his move to America and his conversion from Islam to Christianity.

The singer revealed that he converted from Islam to Christianity because he was inspired by the Bible verses, ‘Seek Him first’ and ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life’.

He added that religion is a personal choice, saying he chose Christianity because he understands it and desires to be closer to God above all else.

People claim Ayuba is a Muslim. Have they seen me in the mosque? If I were practising Islam, wouldn’t someone have noticed? Why is this an issue?

The Fuji star expressed disappointment with how Nigerians practice religion, stating that he was accused of tagging Muslims as killers.

He said: “my mother is an Alhaja , Would I call my mother a killer?

To me, religion is akin to education. However, I chose Jesus Christ because he proclaimed, ‘I am the truth, the way, and the life.’ This is my personal choice, and it brings me happiness. He invites us to reach out to him exclusively. Many of my band members are Muslims, and we pray together. Would I reject their prayers in Arabic, believing they are cursing me?

I prefer to worship where I feel closest to my God.”

What do you think about DECO'S comment
🚨Deco Opinion: 🗣️ "Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are indeed the two greatest players in the history of football, but in terms of pure talent, they don't match up to Ronaldinho. I'm not talking about statistics or trophies. I know I'm going to get criticized for this, but it's what I believe anyway. I had never seen a player pull off dribbles as quickly as Ronaldinho; he was a complete and extraordinary player. He could dribble, score, defend, make passes, he could do everything on the field. He had an incredible physique and amazing footwork; it was a nightmare for defenders to take the ball from him, let alone contain him. When Roni touched the ball, you were sure something unexpected would happen; he had several magic tricks up his sleeve. I've always thought that if Roni had a better lifestyle and fewer distractions, he would have won at least 4 or 5 Ballon d'Or awards in his career. That's why I say that in terms of talent and pure football, he outshines Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. It's just my opinion."

I found out a couple of days later that he was white cat and I was like wow, I've gotta meet him. Everybody around me tried to talk me out of working with him but I didn't listen because I felt Eminem was just too good. Zack Orji Revealed That N**e S3x Scene With Eucharia Anunobi In The 1994 Movie "Glamour Girls" Affected His Marriage .........

Veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, has revealed that his marriage was adversely affected after starring in the popular film, ‘Glamour Girls’, in the 1990s.

Orji was involved in a n**e scene with fellow star, Eucharia Anunobi.

The multiple award-winning actor said a lot of people were feeding his wife’s mind with negative stories against him which led to his pastor suspending him.

Orji made these disclosures while featuring on a podcast tagged ‘Nollywood Hardcore: The Legend’s Untold Story.’

The 1994 Glamour Girls two-part film was about an independent single women embarking on their independence within Nigeria’s traditionally patriarchal society through escorting.

Directed by Chika Onukwufor, the story revealed young women engaging into prostitution, as they battled between accomplishing their dreams and maintaining societal norms.

In the second part, a scene featured Orji and Anunobi sharing a bathtub in an erotic moment.

Recounting the impact of the movie on his life, Orji told Emmanuel Ehumadu, host of the Podcast who is popularly known as Labista, that the scene took a toll on his marital life.

He said his pastor called him that he had received many disturbing reports about the matter and the suspension which he claimed to be private also leaked to the media.

When asked about the impact of the film, Orji said, “Back then, we were talking about the 90s before the 2000s. I was married, yes.”

On whether he had issues with his wife, the actor said, “I did. Even though she’s an actress, so they were putting a lot of things in her mind.

“I remember after the movie was released, my pastor invited me and said that he had been receiving too many calls. (He said) How can Zack go and do this kind of thing?

IF YOU HAVE VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY

Height of DISRESPECT !!😳
South African music duo(Titom & Yuppe) who are the authors of the song “tshwala bam” have disrespected Davido in the worst way possible.

How ?

Their Amapiano song “Tshwala bam” has been the most viral song on the media space for the longest time now but unfortunately, the song has blown and left the artistes behind. People know the song but have no clue who the authors of the song are. The song is trending on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and everywhere but the authors have only 20k followers on Instagram.

For this reason, Titom & Yuppe decided to remix the song with a popular Nigerian artiste to push their names.

It is on this note that they contacted Davido few weeks back and Davido agreed to drop a verse for them for free. But when the duo posted a snippet of DAVIDO’s verse, South Africans expressed so much disappointment in DAVIDO’s verse saying it wasn’t good. They advised the duo to remove Davido from the song.

Few hours ago, a video of Burna Boy in the studio recording a verse for this same song surfaced online. It is alleged that the duo deleted Davido’s verse and decided to pay Burna Boy 600 Million Naira for a perfect verse.

This is a big sl:ap to DAVIDO’s face!!!

Don't tell me you know him well

If you blame Portable for standing his ground over his wife Bewaji's birthday message, I don't know what to tell you.

First, we know it's only póverty and lack of direction that can make a woman marry Portable. Even if she has móney, she needs his fame to change the game. There was something higher than her reach that made her accept to marry him.

This is the same mindset that drives women to become a second wife. They don't believe they can achieve the financial level the man woos them with.

Now, Portable picks up his wife from poverty, cleans her up and gives her a kingdom. She get mind dey call herself "The Queen of Herself!"

Who does that, except for someone who lacks gratitude? Even women who feed their husbands are always swift to acknowledge the man as the central point of their success. That's not my business, though.

But this Portable's wife no try.

He doesn't hide his life and says things as they appear in his mind. If you can manage him as a husband, you should respect him enough to acknowledge his input in your life.

If you are single and call yourself "the Queen of Herself" when there is a man pumping money into your life, you are wrong, too.

You can't stand on your own, girl. You are not an independent woman. So, where is your crown?

I didn't say you are not a queen o. I mean, your crown is the source of your queenship.

If you are not proud of him as a person, you should not be proud of his wealth. Go and hustle, make we see what you can do as a queen.

In essence, I support Portable. Hanti, pack out of his house or acknowledge him as your plug for queenship.

I trust him, he'll keep talking until she bows or goes out. Well, it's not rosy out there, and she knows. So,... She is the Queen of Portable, not Herself.

This also goes on to point back to the lack of proper parenting. If you don't raise your daughter well and she grows up in survival mode, any man can appeal to them as long as he has money. The boys will end up trying to scam anyone with móney they come in contact with, especially their Oyibo grandmothers.

Raising children in survival mode has more negative consequences than the joy of having a child.
