Domes have lots of other advantages. They create the most floor space for a given length of wall. There are no wasted corners. The feeling inside is magical. Those who live in domes (and roundhouses) most likely never live in boxes again. Wind flows around domes and does not build up pressure against them. You can build domes without wood. You can build domes with minimal tools and materials – no nails, no wood, no plywood, no shingles. This makes domes a good candidate for those who lack carpentry skills and for emergency shelters for disaster areas and war refugees. Give people some rice or grain bags and a little training, and soon they can build their own sturdy, safe shelters.

Do you want to learn how to make a dome for yourself?

What is the most valuable asset for you in your life?

Yesterday, while taking a metro in Delhi I overheard a conversation. One of the aunty was talking about how her son has become a chartered accountant and her daughter a doctor. And that she is so happy now. That her children's life is finally secured.

I couldn't help but think how her children's will be so secured in this world where there is no real security, but illusion.

How will they make sure that the uncontrollable situations they will be facing in there lives will not be controlled by having an insignificant degree and a job.

Living a life of a wandering Darvish, worldly matters I come across seem very different to me than the rest of my fellow humans.

I remember how 2 days of me being absolutely without money and food led me to the extreme sense of security. In God. In me.

That life is something not supposed to be controlled but to be experienced.

I remember that 19 years old me, crying out loud that night, lying in the aisle of a local train. Filled with people but completely empty hearts.

A miserable me. Living a miserable life. Trying to make a living.

That broke me. To an extend that I could never be the same.

For years of being someone who I was not I realized that I am throwing my life away.

And now finally when I live. I am aware. I live fully.

Because nothing but my life is the most important asset I have.

And I won't trade it for nothing but love. ❤

Sometimes words spoil what you want to say. Specially something that you want to say is so close to your heart.

But let me try.

I am so emotional right now, to have lived these moments.
To have lived this way.

A chapter so beautiful that I wished it would never have ended. But like everything else it did come to an end.

I breath. Slowly. And let it sink in.

Last time I went trekking I was a different person. The things I did and the company I enjoyed were different.
Back then I used to like to hangout with people, singing, dancing and enjoying the conversations.

Today the things I like doing were different. I liked my own company. I enjoyed conversations with my own self. Reading a book in silence. Sitting in silence admiring the nature around. Noticing my own thoughts and giving love to my body and being thank ful for everything it has gone through to help me on this journey called life.

I see how much Raghu has changed since he left the city life. And I kinda like this version of Raghu☺

If you don't know something. Will you ever be able to do it?

Agar hume kisi chiz ke baare me jaankari he na ho. To kya hum wo kabhi kar sakte hai?

Suppose, if we didn't know alphabets, can we still write words? No. Right?

In the same way agar hume pata he nahin hai ke zindagi jeene ke kitne saare alag alag tareeke hai to kya hun kabhi un tareekon me se koi ek zindagi humare liye chun payenge?

We were kids when we were given 3 options - Science, Accounts and Arts. And left to live our lives. And that's it!

Really?

Kya humari saari zindagi bus in teen option tak he simit hai?

Nahi.

When you stop walking on the Tar road made for us by someone else and start walking on our own foot made trails only then we will give ourselves an opportunity to explore ourselves.

Agar chale he nahi apni raah pe aur chalte rahe bani banayi raah pe, jispe har vyakti chal raha hai, to phir hum sab ki manzil to ek hogi he na.

Hum sab hai to alag alag.
Pr jee rahe hai bilkul same to same.

Stills from my ongoing solo travel vlog series from Kashmir.

I went there few years back when I had just quit my job and began my new life. I had thought I will just travel for few months and then get back to my normal life. But that never happened.

When I went to Kashmir, on my own, I did not know so many unexpected experiences were awaiting me.

From spending more than 36 hours in a cab from Jammu to Srinagar which is just about 300 kms to meeting complete strangers who became really good friends with whom I am still in touch with, staying in a boat house for just ₹80 per day, getting to know the views of kashmiri locals about what media portraits about them and so many other beautiful memories.

As a first time solo traveler, it was one hell of an experience.

Sometimes Raghu feels down. He feels like what is he doing with his life. What kind of life is this? Why can't he be like everyone else and live a normal simple life. Why can't he just find a job and make some money.

How do I tell him that he don't get to choose. He can't decide what kind of life he will lead. He doesn't have the control over his fate. What happens, happens. He just needs to accept it. And just be. And let the universe make the plan for him. And just trust the Universe.

Because see, where all it has taken him. What all it has brought to his life. How many beautiful souls he got to meet. How many different things he got to learn. Which he would have never learnt otherwise.

Only because he stopped planning and started listening. Listening to his heart.

Sometimes he forgets.
Sometimes I need to remind him.
Remind him that it's okay to feel low sometimes.
Everyone does.
The important thing is when you are not feeling low, what are you doing?
And if you are living.
Then it's alright.

Earth bag technique is one of the many natural ways to build a house. We are building the first of it's kind in our village in Rajasthan and it's also a first for me.

I wasn't very confident at the beginning but I was sure that I want to do this. Atleast one. Let me give it a try. Lets see how it comes out. I kept telling "ke kar ke to dekhte hai ek"

And this what we have managed to achieve so far.

A study table, a niche, a round glass window, 8 steps for the roof, windows and doors. And most importantly 9' tall mud wall in almost 10 days of hard work and many mistakes.

Ye saare naam mujhe bahot pasand aaye. Kam se kam log isi kaaran iss ghar ke baare me jaanane to lage hai.
Ek ghar aisa jisse hum apne he zameen ki mitti se bana rahe hai. Iss ghar ko mene naam diya hai ret aur khet. Kyu ke ret ke katte bhar bhar humne 8 foot ka ye makaan abtak khada kar diya hai humare khet me. Aur kuch din ka safar aur baaki hai phir ban kar tayar ho jayega humara ye mitti ka ghar.

Can you entertain yourself when you are alone?
Ofcourse, without your phone.

I couldn't.
In those four walls, under that concrete roof, sitting on a sofa on my marble tiles whenever I saw myself alone, my hands would reach the phone unconsciously as if it has its own mind.
And then, mindlessly I use to enter the net of social media for hours jumping from one platform to other. Looking ways to distract my mind and entertain myself.

Now, when I am surrounded by nature, I find myself doing so many different things all the times just to entertain myself.
A simple walk in the woods, a swim in the sea, a shower under a waterfall, a conversation with fellow humans and sometimes with trees, birds and animals too, sitting under a tree while watching some birds flying playfully and practicing yoga and so many other things.

I saw myself doing so many different things once I kept my phone aside.

Sometimes I see myself getting pulled in by the world of social media, again.

Every time I am about to jump in the world of social media, I ask for strength to not get sucked in, to stay focused & do exactly what I came here for without getting lost.
To return safely back to my world in time.

I win sometimes.
And I lose sometimes.
But but I am glad, atleast I am AWARE.

I am a Minimalist.

There are lot of reasons I chose to be a minimalist.

One of the main reason is the sense of FREEDOM I get when I don't own anything or try to own something through EMI's or loans or whatever ways possible. Which means less stress and most importantly, able to live in now.🍁

I love the feeling of being able to be free and decide to do whatever I want to do with my TIME. Because I believe, time is the only true asset that we actually own. If I can't choose what I want to do with my time then I am not really free.🌠

Most of my time goes in doing things that I love or in another words I trade my time consciously doing something that I like, that I enjoy.  And that is a true sense of freedom and life for me.☘️

Most of the clothes I wear is either given by someone or some second hand old clothes I bought from somewhere on the road.😁

My major expenses since I quit city life and started traveling like as a nomad is whatever I spend to reach to point B. Once I reach my destination I move around by either walking or hitching a ride. To survive I offer help as a  volunteer to get stay and food until I find another place to go to.🦋

Since I don't have to go to a proper corporate job where you are supposed to look in a certain way, I am free to wear whatever I want without worrying about my looks or brands. Saves lot of headache and money 😄

But ya, there are some disadvantages to this lifestyle too. Maybe you can write them down in the comments for me and we can discuss.😊

Why I volunteer?

🍂I get to live at a completely different place every few months that to for as long as my heart desires.

🍃I get to meet so many people all the time which I absolutely love. Get to know about there life and experiences and get to share my own.

🌾I get to learn so many new things all the time. I learnt so many new skills over the years from all the beautiful souls who come cross my path while traveling. I developed so many new interests, got to know so many new things that I never knew before.

🍁I get to spend time in nature and with myself which is the most important thing for me as I would not get enough time before when I was working in a regular job.

🌠I get so much free time after my volunteering hours to do my own freelance video editing projects.

☘️I don't have to keep thinking about earning more money so that I can survive because all my basic necessities are taken care of.

🍄I get to fall in love so often. I get to break my heart also so often which I believe is a very important process for your growth.

🦋And most importantly, I feel free.❤️

Kyu bhatakta hai tu raahi?
Kya dhundhta hai tu bhai?
Kyu dur hai tu uss nagar se?
Jaha saare aisho araam,
Kursi pe bethe sare kaam.
To kyu tera thikana dar badar hai?
Tu kyu itna besabar hai?

Kyu mera thikana dar badar hai? 😀
Ekdin, Sabhi ko jana kabar hai.
Bita du meri umar us nagar me
Hahaha, itna bhi nahi dafar me😅
Mera jitna hasin safar hai
Kya utna hasin tera nagar hai?

Dost, me Raahi hu.
Panno pe likhi saahi hu.

Dost, me raahi hu.
Panno pe likhi saahi hu.

It's been raining everyday here.

But this particular day I saw some clouds traveling through the valley far from where I was and I couldn't stop myself. I shut my laptop down and ran to them.

I found myself amidst the clouds in this beautiful afternoon. I know it doesn't look like an afternoon though. I sat there for couple of hours looking at the clouds taking different shapes.

While I was breathing these clouds in, I felt bad for that city wala Raghu. While I was here sitting on an empty road alone, breathing these pure clouds in. That Raghu was also breathing the clouds in while walking on the streets but the difference was it was coming from the traffic from the busy roads of Pune.

Every morning when I come to the forest, Kunwar Singh my companion and my trek buddy also comes along. He gives me company while I sit and read a book or do some yoga or just sit looking at the birds and the sky.

Sometimes I love to be in a company who lets me BE and who also just BE. We don't always have to do something or say something. Sometimes silence is the best conversation you can have with someone, occasional smiles and hugs.

And sometimes you don't get that from fellow humans.
And that's why I love Kuwdu, (Kunwar Singh) 🐕 ❤️
