Knight’s Fish Restaurant in Glastonbury is officially one of the UK’s top three for Quality Accreditation — and no, it’s not just about the batter. Hygiene, training, service and sustainable sourcing all scored high.

They’ll find out in February if they’ve fried the competition. Until then, your haddock comes with a side of national recognition.

Knight’s Fish Restaurant in Glastonbury has been shortlisted for a top UK quality award at the 2026 National Fish & Chip Awards.

Good things are growing at Honeybees in Glastonbury - thanks to £750 from the local Masonic Lodge, the nursery is building a new sensory garden for children with SEND.

It’s inclusive, hands-on, and still short on funds. So if you’ve got a few quid (or a spare bag of compost), now’s the time to help the little ones dig into something meaningful.

St Dunstan's Honeybees Playgroup received a £750 donation from St Dunstan’s Masonic Lodge for a sensory garden.

When your brand’s 200 years old, you don’t throw a rave — you throw two tea parties and still run out of seats. Clarks pensioners packed The Loft Lounge & Bar in Street for cakes, cuppas and a spot of reminiscing, courtesy of The Shoemakers Museum.

Sorry if you didn’t get in. Turns out nostalgia, like a good pair of Wallabees, never goes out of fashion.

Brace yourselves, Street drivers: the A39 by Clarks Village is about to become even more “fun”. Six sets of traffic lights, 30 years old and probably held together with duct tape, will be ripped out starting 5 January.

New signals, fresh surfaces and a cyclist-friendly path are promised. But until May, expect clever lights, overnight closures, and lots of swearing at cones.

Six traffic signals at Clarks Village junction to be upgraded as part of county-wide scheme.

An early start for police and a council team this morning as a van was removed from St John’s Car Park in Glastonbury.

It comes at a time when the town’s wider van-dwelling issue is already under scrutiny, with concerns about abandoned vehicles, pressure on public spaces and the lack of long-term options for those living in vans.
