GOOD Music Welcome to the OFFICIAL page of G.O.O.D. Music. G.O.O.D. Music is an American record label founded by rapper and producer Kanye West in 2004. "G.O.O.D."

is a bacronym for "Getting Out Our Dreams". The label is home to recording artists such as West himself, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Mos Def, Q-Tip, D'banj and John Legend among others.

2004–07

Kanye West founded the label in 2004. John Legend and Common were the first to have albums produced by GOOD Music and have received seven Grammy Award nominations between them; Get Lifted (2004) with thr

ee and Be (2005) with four. Consequence was signed in 2005 through a deal with Columbia Records. In 2007, Big Sean was also signed to the label.
2008–11

In 2008, West signed Mr Hudson after hearing his debut album (as Mr. Hudson and the Library), A Tale of Two Cities as well as Kid Cudi after hearing his respective work from Plain Pat. In 2010, the label signed Pusha T, Mos Def, and Cyhi the Prynce, who was signed in a joint venture with Akon's Konvict Muzik, with the departure of Tony Williams, followed by Consequence who left the label on bad terms. In 2011, the signing of Nigerian artist D'banj and fellow producer Don Jazzy, and a distribution agreement made with Island Def Jam Music Group followed. Big Sean's debut Finally Famous was the first album released by GOOD Music with distribution by Def Jam. In 2011, West signed longtime friend and hip hop legend Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest.
2012-present

In Mid-2012, Kanye West signed former Star Trak/Interscope Records artist Teyana Taylor to G.O.O.D. In late 2011, plans were announced for a Spring 2012 release of a GOOD Music collaborative studio album, later announced as Cruel Summer. It was to be accompanied by a short film. Produced by West's design organization DONDA and shot in Qatar, the film premiered at Cannes Film Festival. It was finally released late in the US on September 18 2012. In late 2012, Q-Tip hinted at a follow up album to Cruel Summer, possibly called Cruel Winter. Teyana Taylor and Travi$ Scott also hinted at it on twitter. In an interview with DJ Semtex, Big Sean confirmed the album was coming and that he's worked on a track for it. Later, John Legend confirmed the album and said he's made tracks for it in an interview with Rolling Stone. But in January 2013, Common squashed these rumors by saying that everyone, himself included, is too focused on solo projects as Cruel Summer acted as a launching pad for them. However GOOD Music artist Travi$ Scott insists the album will still be released. Big Sean would also say that the project will be released sooner then you think. On January 19, 2013, Scottish record producer and DJ Hudson Mohawke, who previously worked with the label on Cruel Summer, announced via Twitter that he had signed to the production arm of G.O.O.D. Music, Very G.O.O.D. Beats.
