This is the City of Cessnock in New South Wales. The city is inland and is 1 hour drive to the nearest beach of Newcastle or Lake Macquarie. Cessnock is the gateway city to the vineyards of the Hunter Valley. This is just over 1 hour drive from Nelson Bay and 2 hours drive from Sydney.

This place is just 15 minutes drive from Sydney CBD, 15minutes walk from Edgecliff Train Station, and maybe 10 -15 minutes by the ferry from Sydney circular quay. Double bay wharf is currently closed for renovation.

I was having a morning walk around Double Bay in Sydney and suddenly I smell the aroma of Ensaymada. I get inside the restaurant and look which one is making the smell, but no ensaymada. They have just the usual western breakfast breads and sandwiches and some of their specials. I ordered almond croissant and a cappuccino. Good customer service and fast. Not a loud welcome just a good sincere smile. Very good that they serve water right after the guest sit down.

When are you coming to Nelson Bay? Aside from this Nelson Bay foreshore, there are many other beaches to visit around the area.
Nelson Bay is just about 2.5 hours to drive, or a bus ride once a day from Sydney Central Station. Train is also an option but will take about 5 hours including the waiting time and bus transfer.

Newcastle in Australia is just 2.5 hours direct train ride from Sydney or about 2 hours to drive. An hour drive or bus ride to beautiful Port Stephens and wine region of Hunter Valley. Beach and parks everywhere and lots of free parking spaces.

When I was new in Nelson Bay, I always buy coffee at the Ice cream shop almost everyday. They sometimes give me free coffee. Marina Ice Creamery . This time I am having this delicious salted caramel ice cream and it is more delicious than the grocery one. But for coffee I am now usually making instant coffee in the house.
