TAMMY WILLIAMS is the first black woman to own a film/television studio in Atlanta, Ga. She will begin to break ground in March for Cinema South Studios located north of Fayette County.

The studio will occupy 60 acres and intends to have eleven soundstages, a back-lot, a prop house, a wardrobe rental facility, and a lighting grip rental house. The production facility will include a transportation company and an office building to house a theater and post-production facilities, reports AJC.

Williams aims to have two soundstages operable by the first quarter of 2023.

“The demand for soundstages is happening globally, and the ownership rarely looks like us, let alone an African American woman,” said Guidry said in an official release, reports AJC. “When I choose to invest, I evaluate the need of the business and the ownership. Investing in Tammy Williams and her team of professionals convinced me that buying the land in Fayetteville, GA.”

Erin Jackson has become the first Black woman to win a speedskating medal at the Winter Olympics. And a gold one, at that. Jackson won the 500 meters Sunday with a time of 37.04 seconds, giving the American speedskating program its first speedskating medal of the Beijing Games and first individual medal since 2010. But this one meant much more than national pride.
The 29-year-old Jackson, a former inline skater who switched to the ice shortly before the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, joined fellow American Shani Davis as the only Black athletes to win speedskating medals at the Olympics.

Jennifer King Is First Black Woman To Act As NFL Lead Position Coach
King, who played in the women's football league for over a decade, made history Tuesday night. The Washington Football Team’s Jennifer King became the first Black woman in NFL history to act as a lead position coach during a game when she stepped in Tuesday as the running backs coach.
King, who typically performs assistant coaching duties, took on the role during the team’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles after regular running backs coach Randy Jordan had to miss the game due to COVID-19 protocols.
Earlier this year, King became the second woman to coach full-time in the NFL and the first Black woman to do so. In a January interview on “Good Morning America,” King praised her players and other coaches for embracing her.

“I’ve been super fortunate to work with a great group of guys and I think it comes from the top,” she said. “I’ve had some great bosses ... That culture that they’ve built has been fantastic. The guys that I’ve worked with have been awesome.”
