A storm on the sea can be quite intense. At Steve's Rock the effects can be seen in full glory. Imagine somebody is sitting on those rocks during such a storm. I have decided to explore this experimentally. This is how I have done it.

If you want to undrstand more about Solar Eclipses and especially the coming one on Monday, then watch this video by Sabine. .
She is always on her best and well informed. This was very educational for me. At the maximum lines the Sokar Eclipse will bring complete darkness because the apparent size of the moon in the sky will be bigger than that of the sun. That will allow scientists to study specific feateres. Let her speak. You can also watch my video lower in the feed on the Solar Eclipse from 2002 that was visible from South Africa.

There was one problem on the day of the South African Total Solar Eclipse in 2002 and that is that it was cloudy. The visibility of the sun was therefore limited. But the effects of the Eclipse would of course be visible. The maxima of the Eclipse would scour past the northern parts of the country just below the border with Zimbabwe. Quite a crowd gathered at this spot near Tshipise and the ground was prepared.
Time for the Eclipse at Musina/Tshipise was put at 08:20 SAST (UTC+2). Watch the progression towards that time and how the people responded and also how the cars on the road suddenly had to turn on their headlights.

Just before the 4th of December 2002, a group consisting of colleagues and myself plus some other related people, converged on a South African place named Ts...

This is how I bury my head in the sand to escape. Grab my camera and go for a walk and take a photo or two. Even tthough I have taken the same scene many times before. But today is a nice clear day and was good for pictures. And my CCD has some dust on it and I am too lazy to edit it out. Life is dust.

                                                                       https://youtu.be/ChvyUkCMdC0On the 19th of August...

On the 19th of August 2013, the coal-tanker the MV SMART with a full load, attempted to leave the harbour in Richards Bay, KZN, South Africa, and met with an immense swell of about 7m. There seems to be various explanations on what happened but in essence the ship sway to the left of the harbour channel and met with a subdued sandbank with its bow first. Due to the leverage on its body, loaded with 147 000 tons of coal, it started to fail later that day just in front of the stern section and a few days later it also failed more towards the bow so that it was effectively in three pieces. This is a summary photo journey through the salvaging process taken at regular intervals during times of higher activity. We do have video footage of all days shown here and if it is viable to do so, the more complete story can be told. It will depend on the reaction we get on here.

According to meteorologists and weather scientists, the weather that caused the massive swells along the Western and Eastern Cape Coast was cause by a cold front that swept over the country with its epicentre in a low pressure system way South of the country on Saturday the 16th of September 2023. Coming past this cold front was what is called a Long Fetch. According to Vox Weather Forecast [1], a Long Fetch occurs when constant straight winds blows constantly over a far distance, in this case it was over 6000km’s, and this effectively pushed the ocean in a certain direction causing it to gather a huge volume of water in the land direction. This caused the large swells and raised the ocean level at that point. This was aided by the simultaneous Spring tide. If you go to my channel on the 2007 storms that hit the town of Ballito as well as its suburb Sheffield Beach, you will notice what enormous damage was caused by a similar system at the time.

Some of this enormous energy carried over to the East Coast of South Africa with the persistent wind and we took this video on the 18th of September 2023 to show how this energy still persists to a great extent. I have more videos on storms that came over Steve’s Rock, it happens so every often.

Giba Gorge is a very beautiful nature reserve close to Marionhill and Hillcrest in Durban. It is embraced within the hillside through which the river flows and it is encircled by natural forest as well that gives you that jungle feeling. It is also a Mountainbike spot and I have cycled there several times in the past. If you want to de-stress, a walk to the forest waterfall is highly advised. Watch this video if you want to live that experience. You can use it to meditate as it pulls you into that sweet spot.

" Kleynhans Kleynhans Thank you all with camera's doing the job of filming these fascinating doc's.
I am simply addicted.
No need for cable tv anymore.
I can watch these types of videos forever.
Your channel has a great variety of things that I love.👍
Thank you.
Hello from Atlanta Ga USA 👋"

It is these type of rare comments that motivate me. A person was so impressed that they made a special effort to write a nice comment on a video that I made and then watched some more. I suppose my only benefit is this love but it restores my trust in at least a pert of humanity.
