Twitter CEO Elon Musk told employees at an all-hands meeting Monday that no more layoffs were "planned," Insider reported, citing anonymous sources.
His comments came following a cull that reportedly continued until Sunday, with some sales staffers — despite indicating their willingness to work longer hours at Musk’s “hardcore” version of the social media site — receiving layoff notices Sunday night, Bloomberg reported, citing anonymous sources.
Musk also confirmed that he was not looking to move the company's headquarters from San Francisco to Texas, where his other companies are based.
Twitter’s total headcount is now roughly 2,750, sources said — meaning the company has shed more than 60% of the 7,500 workers it had before Musk’s takeover.
The number of tech glitches at Twitter is expected to increase following the layoffs, Axios reports, with users already saying the company has become slow to respond to account breaches and issues downloading data.
