31/12/25: On Monday, December 29th, UM Rocketry made history with the successful launch of Malta’s very first rocket, "Merill." The groundbreaking test took place on the island’s east coast, with the rocket being fired from the Pembroke area, reaching an impressive apogee of 690 meters (2,264 feet).

The test marked a major milestone for the young engineering team, confirming the rocket's design and performance. Despite a minor issue with the recovery parachute, which failed to fully inflate, the rocket safely returned to Earth in one piece. The team is confident that this successful launch paves the way for future innovations in Malta’s aerospace ambitions.
