How can you make boba even better? Add dogs and make it cute 😂

📍 The Moo Bar - Seattle in Seattle, WA plus Boba Pup in Santa Clara, CA
🧋 Creme Brûlée Brown Sugar Latte
💬 The Moo Bar is a small shop with limited seating in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. They have a sister store named Boba Pup in Santa Clara, which actually used to be called Moo Bar, as well. Both locations feature a long list of drink options including milk teas, fruit teas, blended drinks, matchas, and Vietnamese coffee. Their differentiator is definitely their cute mason jars with different designs featuring corgis and anime.

The drink was delicious with a strong tea and brown sugar flavor. The boba was a great consistency, just make sure you don't make the same mistake as me and really mix it before you take your first sip or it will be all brown sugar. 😅 The only thing I'd say about the drink is I probably wouldn't get the creme brûlée next time because I couldn't really taste it even though you do pay extra for it.

Also, the biggest thing to note is that it's expensive. After tax, my drink was almost $10. However, if you bring back the mason jar, you can get $1 off your next drink. I do feel bad using all of those one time use plastic cups, so that could help decrease it in theory. It's just still pretty expensive even with that discount.

While I really enjoyed my drink, I'm unlikely to go back because of the price. I'd love to hear what you think if you've been to either location!

Starbucks has boba!? 🤯 YEP!

📍 Jacksonville Beach, FL but it's available at all locations in the US
🧋 Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher, Summer Skies Drink Refresher
💬 When I saw Starbucks had new summer drinks with boba, I had to go try them immediately. They launched three new refreshers (including Summer-Berry Refresher that's a water-based of the lemonade I tried) that all feature popping raspberry boba.

Both drinks are sweet and fruity as you've likely come to expect from Starbucks Refreshers. They both have a mix of raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry flavors. I personally like the Summer Skies Drink more because it's less sweet and a little creamy thanks to the coconut milk.

The popping boba is a little bit chewier than most others that I've tried, which I liked, but it still has that satisfying feeling when you do fully bite through it. I'm not usually a big fan of popping boba, but I realize it's too hard for places like Starbucks to have good traditional boba when it's not their specialty.

Overall, I enjoyed the drinks. They're a fun change up for the summer, and I'm glad to see boba, even if it's only popping boba, becoming more common in the US.

What about you? Do you want to see more US chains serve boba?

Whenever I’m traveling, I always have to get boba. I love seeing how it’s different in different parts of the US and world, so you know I had to get boba in Barcelona too with my first stop being HERE Bubble Tea. 🧋

📍 Here Bubble Tea in Barcelona, Spain
🥤 Nostalgia with boba
💬 HERE is a Spain-based boba shop with 2 locations in Barcelona and 1 in Madrid. I visited one of their Barcelona shops. It’s a small shop with just 6 bench-style seats. However, most restaurants and coffee shops in Barcelona are smaller than their American counterparts, so it’s what most would expect to see. They have a lot of different types of drinks to choose from including both fruit teas and milk teas.

I ordered their Nostalgia drink which is a red milk tea with whipped cream and roasted pecans, plus you know I had to add boba. The first thing I noticed is that it’s a very milky drink with a light tea flavor, but that’s too be expected since red tea is generally lighter than black tea. It was also much less sweet than milk teas in the US, which I’ve found to be consistent with food in Spain vs the US overall. I liked the added sweetness of the whipped cream and candied pecans. The pecans added a nice variety to the texture of the drink. The boba itself was a nice consistency, just slightly on the chewier side.

It’s a busy little shop that seemed to have a few regulars. I’d love to go back and try some more drinks since they had some other ones that looked unique.

Skeptical that plant-based food can still be delicious? Then, you need to check out Mr. Charlie’s Told Me So in San Francisco, Los Angelos, or Sydney!

📍 Mr. Charlie's Told Me So in San Francisco, CA (other locations: Hollywood, CA; Venice Beach, CA; Sydney, AU)
🍔 Double Not Frowny Meal
💬 Mr. Charlie’s Told Me So feels like one part fast food vegan restaurant and one part art exhibition. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the funky style of the restaurant with bright yellow and red walls, neon lights, and cow statues in the front window. It’s obvious throughout all of the branding that they see themselves as the anti-McDonald’s from the frowny face logo to the naming of their items as a “not hamburger” or “not chicken.”

The ordering experience feels very familiar thanks to being a Mickey D's parody. You choose between vegan hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, or chicken nuggets. They also just added breakfast at their US locations. You can also order a combo meal, which is what I did. I ordered the Double Not Frowny Meal which is a double cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, french fries, and a glass bottle of Coke.

Everything feels familiar, but it is discernable that the burger is vegan cheese and Impossible Foods burger patties. However, you couldn’t tell that the chicken is plant-based. They’re delicious! Since french fries are already vegan, they were absolutely the same as you’re used to.

It’s definitely a little more expensive and takes longer than traditional fast food restaurants, but that’s probably to be expected for a vegan restaurant where everything is made to order. One thing I didn’t like is that they don’t have real seats or tables, just benches in booths shaped like their boxes, so it’s not a very comfortable dine-in experience.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience and meal, and I’d absolutely go back if I was looking for a tasty, plant-based meal. What do you think? Would you try it?

Mondays are better with boba 🧋

📍 in Atlanta, GA
🥤 Strawberry Milk Tea with boba
💬 Unbelibubble Tea House has five locations in the Atlanta area, and I visited the one in Midtown located inside .colonysquare. Politan Row is a cool food hall with many different options to enjoy with your boba. As far as Unbelibubble, they have a large menu of fruit teas, milk teas, and non-tea drinks, so there really is something no matter what you’re feeling.

I tried the Strawberry Milk Tea since I was feeling something fruity, milky, and caffeinated. The drink is sweet and floral with a light fruitiness and strong jasmine tea flavor. The boba is honey boba, so it has a light flavor. It’s good, just a little chewier than I usually like.

The staff was helpful and answered all of my questions about the different drinks. My drink also came out super quickly.

I’d be happy to visit again whenever I’m in Atlanta next. I’d probably try one of their fruit teas because they have a lot that looked good.

Boba is my love language ❤️

📍 Harmony Tea Shoppe in Indianapolis, IN
🥤 Caramel Black Milk Tea
💬 Harmony Tea Shoppe is an Indiana based boba shop with 5 locations in Indianapolis, Carmel, and Noblesville. They have 4 more locations coming soon including 3 in Indiana along with their first out of state location in Chicago. I visited the Fountain Square Indianapolis location which is a really cute shop with modern decor, a good amount of natural light, table and couch seating, plus a selection of board games.

The menu features a large selection of drinks including milk teas, fruit teas, brewed teas, smoothies, and milkshakes. I decided to try with the Caramel Black Milk Tea. It’s definitely on the sweet side which I think overpowered the tea flavor a bit. So, I’d definitely get it less sweet next time. The boba itself was ok but not quite as soft as I like it.

Overall, I had a positive experience thanks to the atmosphere and the nice staff. I’d go back again to try one of their fruit teas or get a less sweet milk tea then hangout to play boardgames for a bit.

I’ve had a lot of cookie dough ice cream in my life, and this one was without a doubt the best I’ve ever had 🍪🍨😍

📍 Mimi's CKIES & CRM BAR behind casualbird in Daytona Beach Shores, FL
🍨 Cookie Dough Ice Cream
💬 Mimi’s Cookies & Cream Bar is a handmade ice cream and cookie truck that just opened in July. The truck is a really cute baby blue and white, and the space is nice too. There’s a mural with a phone holder for taking pics, string lights, and a chair and table with an umbrella. The owner is super nice and you can tell how much she loves what she does and serving her customers.

There are slight changes to the ice cream flavors ever so often, but when I attended there were 9 flavors: Vanilla Bean, Illy Coffee, Strawberry Shortcake, Bowl-of-Cereal, S’mores, Apricot, Chocolate Brownie, Mint Oreo, and, of course, Cookie Dough. They’re all handmade with high quality ingredients, and you can tell in the taste.

The cookie dough ice cream was amazing. It’s definitely the best I’ve ever had. It’s packed full of real cookie dough and chocolate chips, so you get some in every single bite.

The cookies are also delicious. They’re all made fresh. Plus, they’re gooey with lots of chocolate chips.

It was so good that I went back 4 times while I was living in the area for a month. 😆

Make sure you save this post for the next time you want ice cream in the Daytona Beach area!

Getting bobawasted on a Sunday 🤪

📍 in San Jose, CA
🥤 Crème Brûlée Boba Latte, Seasalt Foam Green Tea
💬 Boba Bar is a boba shop in Downtown San Jose just one block from SJSU and located inside of a converted house. It’s a cool space with an outdoor patio that’s lit at night with overhead string lights.

In the last year, they’ve gotten a new owner, and I think the boba got even better under new ownership. Recently, I stopped by with the crew to try it out including their new creme brulee drink.

The Crème Brûlée Boba Latte is a milk-based drink with brown sugar syrup and a bruleed top. It’s sweet and rich, which is why it comes in a smaller size. It’s really tasty though, especially if you’re looking for more of a dessert drink.

I also tried the Seasalt Foam Green Tea, which is exactly what it sounds like. It has a nice saltiness and creaminess from the topping that pairs well with the refreshing and lightly sweet green tea.

The boba for both was a good consistency with a nice mix of softness, chewiness, and sweetness.

Protip: If you’re a fan like me, they also have a Nutella Milk Tea. It’s a black milk tea mixed with scoops of Nutella.

Make sure you save this post for the next time you want creme brulee boba!

Not fooling around. This SHNITZ is good! 😂

Anyone else look forward to the weekend so you have more time to try new restaurants? 🙋‍♂️

If so, here’s one you can try this weekend!

📍 Shnitz in San Jose, CA
🌯 The Shnitz Way Wrap
🥖 Coleslaw Shnitz
💬 Shnitz is a chicken schnitzel shop in San Jose which creates just about everything from scratch using family recipes. They’re working out of a ghost kitchen, but you can pickup or get delivery through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and just calling them directly at (669) 270-7223. The owners Mosh and Yarden just launched the business in the last few months, and they’re starting with more focused hours of 11am to 3pm Monday through Friday.

I got a chance to try two both The Shnitz Way Wrape and Coleslaw Shnitz, and they were honestly both delicious. The chicken is crunchy and flavorful. Their Shnitzy Sauce adds to the meal without taking over the flavor too.

I was surprised that I liked the Coleslaw Shnitz because I don’t generally like coleslaw, but it went so well with the rest of the sandwich and didn’t overpower everything else. One thing to note is that it got a bit soaky on the way home because of how wet the coleslaw is. It’s also messy, so have the napkins ready. But, it’s worth it.

In addition to their Shnitzy Sauce, they also have a few other sauces you can use including Sweet Chill "O" Naise, tahini, aioli, and a spicy pepper sauce.

I didn’t snag a picture, but I also tried their Mash Bites which are fried balls of mashed potatoes. And yes, they are as good as they sound especially paired with the accompanying hummus.

I definitely see myself going back since everything was delicious, and there aren’t many other places like in the Bay Area.

Thanks to Shnitz for having me!

When you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, U C dessert everywhere.

📍 UC Dessert in Oakland, CA
🥤 Hong Kong Style Milk Tea with boba
🧇 Oreo Egg Puff
🍰 Lady M Mille Crêpes
🥣 Taro Balls No.3 Brown Sugar, Mango Pomelo Sago
💬 Opening in 2017, UC Dessert is a Hong Kong style dessert shop located in Oakland’s Chinatown. I visited recently, and the first thing I noticed was their LONG list of delicious sounding Chinese desserts.

The Oreo Egg Puff was definitely the highlight. It’s sweet and chocolaty with a crispy outside and chewy inside. You can choose your ice cream, but the vanilla pairs well. There’s also plenty of Oreo topping, so you can have some with each bite.

I also got the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea with boba, which had a strong tea flavor with a still noticable brown sugar flavor. It was sweet but not overly so. The boba itself was good but a bit more on the chewier side. While it’s not their specialty, I enjoyed it, and it went well with the rest of the spread.

I’d never had a Mille Crêpes cake from Lady M Cake Boutique, so when I saw that on the menu, I knew I had to try it. It’s a cake made from layers of thin crepes, which gives it a light and airy texture. As far as cakes come, it’s also not super sweet. UC Dessert has multiple flavors to choose from.

Finally, I also tried the Taro Balls No.3 Brown Sugar and Mango Pomelo Sago. The Taro Balls No.3 Brown Sugar was a great mix of items including sweet potato, lychee jelly, grass jelly, taro balls, white pearls, and vanilla ice cream. It was lightly sweet but very flavorful. The Mango Pomelo Sago was fruity with a bit of sourness from the pomelo. I enjoyed the added chewy texture from the sago.

Overall, I loved my stop at UC Dessert, and I’ll definitely go back if I’m looking for Chinese desserts in Oakland. Big thanks to UC Dessert for inviting me!

It’s always boba o’clock ⏰

Make sure you don’t miss out on getting 10% off the March Spotlight Drink at Truedan!

📍 Truedan NorCal in Daly City, CA (Other locations: Burlingame, Cupertino)
🥤 Black Tea Latte with Brown Sugar Boba, Crema, & Oreo
💬 Truedan has four locations in the Bay Area including two in Daly City and one in both Burlingame and Cupertino. They’re no-frills boba shops, but they’re some of my favorite in the Bay Area because they have consistently good drinks and fresh boba.

Recently, I stopped by one of the Daly City locations to try their March Spotlight drink: Black Tea Latte with Brown Sugar Boba, Crema, & Oreo. The drink is 10% off for the entire month. Overall, I liked the drink. It’s a sweet drink with a strong brown sugar flavor but a still noticable tea flavor. My only knock on it is that I wish more of the Oreo flavor came through. The boba itself was good as always, just a little bit on the chewier side.

If you’ve tried the drink, let me know what you think!

Thanks to Truedan NorCal for having me!

There’s a new Thai spot in the East Bay! 🙌 Where my Thai food fans at?

📍 SL Kitchen in San Leandro, CA
🍽️ Crab Curry, Money Bags, Tod Pla, Pad Ke Mao, Nam Khao, Papaya Salad, Cashew Mango w/ Chicken & Shrimp, Fried Bananas, Mango Sticky Rice
💬 SL Kitchen is a Thai restaurant in San Leandro that opened this past August. The menu features stir-fried noodle dishes, noodle soups, curries, soups, salads, fried rice, and an assortment of specialty dishes.

Their most popular appetizer is the Money Bags. They’re egg roll wrap pockets of minced chicken, onion, and corn served with a sweet and sour sauce, and they’re delicious. They’re crispy on the outside and completely stuffed inside. The sweetness of the sauce goes well with the savoriness of the filling.

Another highlight was the Crab Curry which is available Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays when the chef they affectionately call “grandma” is in the kitchen. You have to call ahead to let the owner know you’re coming for it so he can buy the crab. He buys the live crab from the market the day of so it’s fresh, which you can taste. The thicker, darker curry heightens the flavor too.

The Pad Ke Mao was one of my favorites. It’s very flavorful with a slight spiciness and sweetness. The noodles themselves were fresh and soft.

Of course, with my sweet tooth, the desserts were a highlight, especially the fried bananas with vanilla ice cream. They’re crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and not overly sweet. The Mango Sticky Rice was also good with fresh mango, but the rice was just a tad too sweet for me.

I loved everything I tried, but I don’t have enough space to talk about it all. 😅 In addition to the delicious food, SL Kitchen also has attentive and friendly service. The combo has me wanting to visit again.

Cheers to the new year! 🍻 How did you ring in 2022?

📍 FICKS in stores & online
🍻 Mango, Cranberry, Blackberry, Grapefruit
💬 Started by two college roommates, FICKS is an independently owned brand of hard seltzers and cocktail mixers made with real fruit juice and puree. The company is based in the Bay Area, and their drinks are made in California. The name FICKS comes from “fix” because their aim is to fix what they see wrong with the alcohol industry.

So far, they have 4 hard seltzer flavors including mango, cranberry, blackberry, and grapefruit, and I got a chance to try all of them in their variety pack. They have a bit of a stronger alcohol flavor than some other hard seltzers. I expect that people that like beer but don’t like hard seltzers will likely enjoy FICKS more.

The blackberry flavor was my favorite. It’s a fairly light and easily sippable flavor. My second favorite was the mango, but I wish it had a stronger mango flavor. I surprisingly liked the grapefruit flavor even though I don’t like grapefruit. It definitely tastes like grapefruit, but it’s a lighter flavor and less tart than straight grapefruit juice. The cranberry was my least favorite because it tastes similar to drinking cranberry juice, so it’s pretty tart. I’d honestly be fine to drink any of the flavors though if I only had one.

There’s a lot of different hard seltzer varieties out there, and if you like trying new things like me, then it definitely keeps things interesting to try them all. You can pick up a case of FICKS at a lot of local stores including , , , , and . You can see which locations carry FICKS or just order a case on their website at ficksdrink.com

Make sure you save this post so you don’t forget FICKS for your next get together!

Thanks FICKS for sending me a case to try!

Find your inner p̶e̶a̶c̶e̶ pizza 🙏

Anyone else like Indian pizza more than regular pizza?

📍 Namaste Pizza in Fremont, CA (Other locations: Oakland & Pleasanton)
🍕 Chicken Pizza Masala, Gobi Manchurian, Palak Paneer
💬 Namaste Pizza has 3 locations in the East Bay including Oakland, Pleasanton, and Fremont. The Fremont location is the one I visited, and it’s a small shop just for pickup and delivery. All locations have a large list of specialty pizzas including both traditional and Indian-style pizzas. Plus, they have vegan pizza options. You can also pair pizza with chicken wings (masala or buffalo) or bread (creamy garlic, spicy mint, or spicy masala).

I was able to try three different pizzas, and I honestly loved all of them. They’re made to order, and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. The most popular pizza is Chicken Pizza Masala, which I think is my favorite too. I love the creaminess and flavor of the garlic sauce. It’s also fairly mild so everyone can enjoy it.

The Gobi Manchurian is an Indian and Chinese fusion pizza. It’s a medium spicy pizza with a slight sweetness. It’s a vegetarian pizza with cauliflower, which is definitely the dominant flavor.

My second favorite was probably the Palak Paneer. It’s another vegetarian and medium spicy. You can especially taste the freshness of ingredients in the cilantro and chopped tomatoes.

Thanks to Namaste Pizza for having me!

Out of this world Vietnamese coffee, mini donuts, and food has landed in San Jose 🚀

📍 Orbit Coffee Company in San Jose, CA (Plus 3 Oakland locations)
🥤 Starberry, Dark Matter
🌯 Banh Mi Burrito
🍩 Mini Doughnuts
💬 Orbit Coffee first started in Oakland where they have 3 locations, but they recently expanded to San Jose with a new location on The Alameda. The first thing you notice when entering is the really fun decor with lots of blue and white plus a space theme throughout including stars in the ceiling. They also have throwback jams playing which adds to the fun, but it was a little loud and made it hard to hear when your order was ready.

Both drinks were delicious. I tried the Starberry without espresso, and it was creamy and sweet. It has a really strong strawberry flavor which I liked. The Dark Matter is an espresso drink with Oreo crumbs, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, rich dark chocolate drizzle and whole milk. It had a lot of Oreo both mixed in and on top which added with the chocolate drizzle to make it very chocolaty. As you’d expect with the toppings, it was sweet and creamy, but it was also a strong coffee.

The mini doughnuts are made fresh to order and come out hot mixed in cinnamon sugar. They’re served with a side of chocolate sauce and sprinkles. They were absolutely delicious.

My favorite part of my meal was probably the Banh Mi Burrito. It’s super unique, since I’ve never seen it anywhere else, and I’d go back specifically for it. It’s literally a banh mi in burrito form with rice, and it’s delicious with a little bit of spiciness.

Thanks for having me, Orbit!

Sweets are my love language 😍 Which cream puff do you want?

📍 Pâte à Choux in San Bruno, CA
🥐 Melted Caramel Choux, Chocolate Oreo Mochi Cube, Creme Strawberry Choux, Original Vanilla Choux, Salted Oreo Choux
💬 Pâte á Choux is located inside of The Shops at Tanforan in San Bruno. It’s a really cute space with a wall that looks like you’re on a balcony in Paris, lots of flowers, a vine wall, and gold accent furniture. All of the cream puffs and mochi cubes are honestly delicious too. You can’t really go wrong no matter which one you get.

The choux have a crunchy and sweet outer shell, and inside they’re filled with sweet, flavored cream. The specialty ones have an open top, more cream, and extra toppings.

My favorite one was the Melted Caramel. The cream has a strong but not overpowering caramel flavor, and it’s topped with a stroopwafel and caramel drizzle.

The Creme Strawberry is simple, but delicious with lots of strawberry flavor thanks to both the strawberry cream and slices of fresh strawberry. It tastes just like strawberries and cream.

The Original Vanilla Choux is the standard and basic, but it doesn’t let down in flavor. It’s not quite as sweet as the specialty ones.

My least favorite of the choux was the Salted Oreo, mainly because the salty flavor overpowers everything else since the cream doesn’t have a strong flavor. I did like the Oreo topping though.

The Chocolate Oreo Mochi Cube was also super good. The outside of the cube is crunchy, but inside it’s lined with chewy mochi then filled with cream. Even with the Oreo and chocolate cream, it doesn’t have a super chocolaty flavor.

Save this post so you don’t forget to try these delicious pastries!

Thanks for having me Pâte à Choux!

🎁 Christmas present idea for the bobaholics in your life: a reusable boba cup!

I recently got to try one from Boba Bēi, and it’s definitely handy. Honestly, the best feature is the leak-proof top and secure rubber stopper so you can toss it in your bag without worrying about leaks. It’s also really sturdy and feels really good in the hand. Plus, it’s double-walled so that your drink stays colder without your hand getting cold.

In addition to the 20oz tumbler, they also include both a metal boba straw and a plastic boba straw with a carrying pouch and straw cleaner. One thing I would love, is a slot on the side of the tumbler to hold the straw, but the pouch makes carrying it separately pretty easy.

I really like that the packaging is fun, and as an added bonus, every order also comes with a cute boba sticker.

I’m always a little worried when buying something online, so it’s really nice that they also provide a 30-day guarantee for a full refund if you don’t love the tumbler for whatever reason.

For me, it’s a good option for whenever I make boba at home, and I’ll be taking it with me to shops when I need a leak proof cup to toss in by backpack.

Big thanks to Boba Bēi for letting me try it!

Handheld chicken and waffles? You’ve got to be CLUCKING me!

Chick’nCone Santa Clara, CA officially opened up this week which makes it the first location in the San Jose area. Send this post to your foodie friends to let them know!

📍 Chick’nCone Santa Clara, CA
🥤 Chick’nCone with Cinna-Maple sauce
💬 Chick’nCone has 26 locations including multiple states and 3 in UAE, and now they have 2 in the Bay Area. After opening their first Bay Area location in Pacifica earlier this year, they now have a Santa Clara location, as well.

While they’re best known for their namesake item, the Chick’nCone, they also have chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich along with Caj’nFries, Caj’nCorn, and Mac’nCheese for sides. If you have a sweet tooth, you can grab one of their Waffle Crunch Shakes that come in vanilla, caramel, and chocolate topped with waffle cone crumbles.

I tried the Chick’nCone with their Cinna-Maple sauce, and really enjoyed it. The waffle cone is made to order, so it comes out hot along with the chicken which is chicken stripes cut into bite sizes. The Cinna-Maple sauce tastes like maple syrup, so if you’re one that likes your traditional chicken and waffles with syrup, then I’d suggest getting it. If not, they have a lot of other sauces to choose from including Kick’nRanch, Yell BBQ, Buffalo Blue, BBQ, and Peri Peri.

I also tried the Caj’nCorn which was spicy and full of flavor. The savory flavor balanced out the sweetness of my Chick’nCone with the maple syrup.

If you’re a chicken and waffles fan, I’d definitely say check it out. The food is good and obviously instagramable. The shop is also bright with lots of orange throughout, and the staff was nice and attentive.

🚨Grand opening for a new Tiger Sugar in San Jose is this Saturday 🚨
Send this post to your boba bae so you have a friend to wait in line with this weekend!

They’re giving away Tiger Sugar merch with the first 100 orders each day on Saturday and Sunday, plus all orders will be upgraded to large during grand opening week. They’re also going to raffle off both a Nintendo Switch OLED and a pair of Airpods Pro.

📍 Tiger Sugar Nor Cal in San Jose, CA
🥤 Mango Sago, Black Sugar Boba Milk w/ Cream Mousse, Milo Black Sugar Pearl Milk w/ Cream Mousse, Mochi & Black Sugar Boba Milk w/ Cream Mousse
💬 Tiger Sugar is most known for the famous black sugar “stripes” the give their drinks, and they’re opening their second Bay Area location in San Jose this Saturday! They’re also launching two new drinks including their Mango Sago and mochi drinks, as well as a large size for their signature milk drinks.

The Mango Sago was really fruity and refreshing with a touch of creaminess from the cream mousse on top. I really enjoyed the chunks of mango, aloe vera, and jelly too. It’s a delicous drink, especially if you’re looking for something fruity since it’s their only drink without milk.

The mochi drink was good but not my favorite. The mochi itself was a good consistency (chewy and stretchy), but it was a little bitter and didn’t have much flavor by itself. If you’re someone that likes less sweet drinks or if you’re a fan of drinkable mochi, it’s a solid drink. It’s just not for me.

My favorite drink from this visit was the Milo Black Sugar Pearl Milk w/ Cream Mousse. It’s essentially their regular black sugar boba milk except with the addition of chocolate malt. I’m a chocoholic, so I loved that it was very chocolaty.

I tried both their boba and pearls, and both were a great consistency. Personally, I like the larger size of the boba better because they’re chewier though.

Ice cream with a side of boba is just how I roll. 🍦🧋

📍 Glazier in Los Gatos & San Francisco, CA
🥤 Caramel Milk Tea with boba, Blueberry Glow with lychee jelly
🍦 Sweet & Salty, Black Magic with 24k Gold Leaf
💬 Glazier Rolls is a cute shop serving up rolled ice cream and boba in Los Gatos and San Francisco. The shop is decorated with bright colors, a neon sign, and a chalkboard wall.

I tried the Black Magic and the Sweet & Salty rolled ice creams with their new bubble waffles. Both ice creams were sweet, creamy, and smooth. They’re made to order with you picking any toppings mixed in or on top. The bubble waffle is also made to order and comes out hot, soft, and chewy.

The Black Magic is a seasonal Halloween flavor. It’s their Thanks 4 Pumpkin with black cocoa and 24k gold leaf added. The black and gold looks really cool, and it tastes good too. It has a unique chocolate pumpkin flavor.

The Sweet & Salty tastes exactly like a salted caramel pretzel. You can clearly taste all of the mixed in flavors.

I also got the Caramel Milk Tea with boba and the Blueberry Glow with lychee jelly. The Caramel Milk Tea is sweet, so I’d get it less sweet unless you have a big sweet tooth. The boba is pretty good too, just a bit on the chewier and stickier side. The Blueberry Glow is sweet and refreshing with a strong floral flavor and a light blueberry flavor.

Their focus is definitely ice cream, and it’s the main reason I’d visit. That being said, the boba is still solid, especially if you’re with a group who wants both. Plus, you can get boba as an ice cream topping!

The Los Gatos location has a few promos this weekend. Today, there’s a fundraiser for students at Los Gatos High, and tomorrow they’re giving away free ice cream if you’re in a costume. Also, 50% of the proceeds from the Black Magic are donated to charity.

Thanks for having me, Glazier Rolls!
