Marshall, Tx continues to add components to the football world (directly and indirectly). Indicated below is #6 rated Texas A&M starting QB Marcel Reed, whose father Rod Reed starred for the Mavs as a LB in the early 80s. Rod went on to play for Tenn State and would serve as a head coach at his alma mater. Although Marcel was developed in the state of Tennessee, the genes run deep.

"LennyMoonSports" reached back into his archives and procured a vintage 1988 interview with Heisman Trophy QB Andre Ware. The Dickinson, Tx native had just become the starting signal caller for Houston during that time, and spoke about the Cougars being one of the few schools that assured he could remain a QB while being recruited. These days, Ware is one of the top football voices (college and pro) in the business.
