In a recent study, a survey of gay, bis*xual, and other men who have s*x with men suggests that many of those surveyed reduced their number of one-time s*xual encounters because of the monkeypox outbreak.

A modeling study estimates that a reduction of one-time s*xual encounters between men can yield a 20%–31% reduction in the percentage of men who become infected.
