Come enjoy some sandwiches in the US, Simple Minds!!!!

ENJOY EVERY SANDWICH!

As touring comes to an end, I'm already thinking about the next phase of touring beginning in Spring next year.
Being so you might ask what is it that drives us on? What's the best thing about being on tour? The single most enjoyable thing?

Answering the first.
We tour because that's just who we are!
We first began jumping in the back of a van and setting off up and down the motorways, playing pubs and clubs, back when we were teenagers not even legally old enough to enter some of those establishments.
Everyone needs a sense of purpose in life and we all found ours through playing music.

Re Best thing?
The best thing is bringing pleasure to those who come to see us.
It is said that 'you cannot make all the people happy all of the time.'
It's a sacrifice we are willing to make, for Simple Minds (band and crew) have made millions of people happy, and continue doing so every time we go on stage.

When it comes to picking out the most enjoyable thing about being on tour?
Whether out touring, or back home, I don't have to try too hard to remind myself that life is fleeting and that I should enjoy all of it.
Even the small details and events.
My reasoning owes much to musician Warren Zevon, as author Ryan Holiday explains.

“The rockstar Warren Zevon had been on the top of the Billboard charts. He’d been on the cover of Rolling Stone. He’d been admired by other great artists and musicians like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty. The heady heights of fame were enjoyable.
But it took a jarring diagnosis of terminal lung cancer to give Zevon the kind of perspective that only an event of that magnitude can give.
And when it came, Zevon passed along a very simple piece of advice to anyone listening.

“Enjoy every sandwich.”

Great news, everyone! The dust has settled on last week's tiff. Joe and Kari (and their agents) have worked out an agreement to get the two back in the studio. It's time to get back into the music of Moonlighting. How accurate is Showrunner Glenn Gordon's Caron claim that they were able to retain the vast majority of the music used in the show's original run? One thing is certain, they songs performed by Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis on the show remain intact. Some other songs that were kept include hits from Pet Shop Boys and Alisha. Come walk by night!
