"I always appreciated Elliott giving us the airtime. We had limited resources, a micro-budget, and production was entirely on our shoulders. Thankfully, our friends were willing to spend their day making it possible," said Channel 25 owner Matthew Gray.

"The Big Quest X" was the Gamemasters' tenth Quest and aired at 9pm on three consecutive Sunday nights.

"I re-edited a new version from the original final version. The new cut is ninety minutes."

Three years had passed since Channel 25 was a UPN affiliate. Channel 25 was an independent station (again) but now operating in a new building. It was Elliott's dream television station where the staff produced local shows "Friday Night Fu," "Scizone," "Lincoln Ware Live" and "Frank Zito's Night of Frights."

Every cable system carried Elliott Block's station except one, the largest cable system in the area. Virgil Reed ran the cable system and was steadfast in his response. He had no space available.

After many years of local and national press about Channel 25 and Time Warner Cable, Reed and Block agreed to have Channel 25 on Time Warner Cable (partially).

Did you know the first-ever televised co****le show was on Channel 25?

Inspired by the "King of TV Bowling," then Station Manager Matthew Gray and a few friends produced a limited series called the "King of Co****le." Joining Gray were Doug Hopkins, Phill Daniel (Channel 25 alum), Chad Dillenfeld (former owner of the Heartland Wrestling Association).

"I pitched Elliott the idea now and then, but I couldn't get him to buy into it," said Gray. "So I shifted directions, grabbed some friends, and produced it ourselves."

Gray and his friends shot the show on Friday night. Hopkins was also a court reporter and helped Gray secure locations and collect qualifier fees to pay the winners and the station airtime.

"I had limited hours available to assemble the show and looked for ways to speed up the editing process," said Gray. "Phill and I purchased tapeless video cameras, eliminating hours of encoding time. I also purchased Multicam editing software to speed up the editing process."

Gray had an edit of the show with instant replays and graphics by Tuesday night. Daniel and Gray recorded commentary after work on Wednesday night.

"Phill was great as a co****le commentator. Way better than me," said Gray. "His analysis was top-notch, especially since we made things up on the fly."

On Thursday night, Gray assembled a final version of the show and took it to work on Friday to air on Saturday. The cycle repeated itself every Friday night after work.

"It was a grueling schedule for a limited series, but it provided awareness for the station and opened doors for new opportunities and friendships," said Gray.

The year was 1993. Channel 25 broadcasted from atop Vernon Manor Hotel. Elliott Block was on the verge of launching sister station Channel 35, increasing Channel 25's power, and moving away from W25AI to more conventional call letters.

Plus, "In The House" with Marcus T spread across the Cincinnati television airwaves.
