The tracks on "The First Demo" are actually the band's first 2 demos recorded before the release of the band's debut album. These are from home studio demos recorded, some even before the band was officially a band including a track that was on CHASTAIN's first album.

My sister Sandra sent me this photo that I don't ever recall seeing before. My "High School Wall of Sound!" Fender Twin Reverb and a Fender Bassman with a 2 12s cabinet. Shortly thereafter I traded all that in for a Marshall 50W with one of those huge 8 10s cabinets. That is a Gibson Les Paul Special guitar that I just saw somewhere for 4k! You will be surprised to know that I earned the money to buy that equipment from my job as an usher for Atlanta Braves & Falcons games. Definitely a blast from the past. I actually like the shorthaired DTC! Later Sandra loaned me the money to buy my first 100W Marshall.

These are reissues of my main "Dorian Scale" releases. For those who don't know the scale the Dorian mode is a minor scale with a major sixth. So, it sounds "less dark/evil" than the normal metal scales and opens up another world that lends itself to a more fusion of different styles. "Fusion Delusion" includes at least one track from about all of my instrumental releases. "Next Planet Please... Revisited" is a remastered version with a few different arrangements of the original. There are still CDs available for the original. Musicians included on these releases are Ken Mary, David Harbour, Mike Haid, & Ricky Porter. Available at all digital outlets worldwide. Back in 1999 Michael Harris and myself started the metal band ZANISTER. Also, in the band included Michael's brother Drummer Brian Harris, bassist James Martin and the excellent Brian Sarvella (RIP) on vocals. This underrated band put out 2 full studio albums and the second "Fear No Man" still has CDs available. "CHILDREN OF THE GODS" is a collection of the band's heaviest tracks including a version of the Shelton/Chastain penned "The Edge of Sanity." This release is at all digital outlets worldwide.

These are reissues of my band that includes vocal great Eric Johns (RIP) on vocals, Dave Swart- Bass, and Mike Haid- Drums. Don't let the band name fool you. These are pretty heavy, especially "The Heavy One." Much closer to Sabbath than ZZ Top. Available at all digital outlets worldwide. CDs have long ago sold out. The drums and vocals are the same on both releases but the music has changed. Also "The Heavy One" has 2 to 3 guitars per song whereas the original is just a one guitar affair and is more of a live in the studio affair.
As Eric said upon their release: "The whole time I have been in Southern Gentlemen, fans have asked, 'when are you guys going to play some heavy stuff?' Because all of us have backgrounds in hard rock and metal, I think people always expected us to go in that direction. David T. saw an opportunity to give people what they have been asking for and went back into the studio like a mad scientist possessed. He added layers and parts to really re-invent the songs in a whole new way. I think even if you are a fan of the album in its original format, you'll find this version just as cool. The heavier version does a lot to bring out the darker elements of the songs. It definitely adds some bite to some already pretty heavy songs."

CHASTAIN 1321 takes tracks from each of the 4 albums from the second era of vocalist Leather Leone and presents them with different arrangements. "1321 is the album we would have released if we had released only one album during the LL2 era. The tracks now are little more listener friendly and more accessible for the first-time metal fan who may have never experienced the music before. For long time Chastain fans, I believe they will dig the new arrangements." Stian Kristoffersen Drums & Mike Skimmerhorn Bass round out the band. 1321 is available at all Digital outlets worldwide. "That Was Then Again" is a collection of the heaviest songs from my first 3 instrumental albums: "Instrumental Variations," "Within The Heat" and "Elegant Seduction." Musicians include drummers Ken Mary & Ricky Porter and bassist David Harbour. This is available at all streaming and download sites. CDs are no long available for this release. "This was the era of the shred guitar instrumentals. All of the Shrapnel Records' alumni were out there trying to push the boundaries of instrumental music. I chose to compose songs that weren't just solo showcases but actual songs with what I thought were cool parts. These were remastered and sound pretty slamming."

The CJSS "Sands of Time" Demo album has been reissued. Band features me, Russell Jinkens, Mike Skimmerhorn and Les Sharp. 14 tracks. Most of the tracks never made it on to the 3 commercial albums the band released. The ones that did are probably slightly different arrangements. Demo quality. Hard to believe some of these are approaching 40 years old!! Just "young rambunctious whippersnappers!" Music is available at all streaming and download sites. CDs are no longer available.

Heavily Demented Progressive Power Metal!!
CHASTAIN "In Dementia... Again" is out now on all digital streaming and download platforms." Jolly Roger Records is planning on a Vinyl release in the not-too-distant future. Original CDs are still available.
This is a reissue of the 1997 CHASTAIN album IN DEMENTIA. "I have always felt this to be one of the absolute strongest CHASTAIN albums." David states. "It never received the recognition it deserved when it was first released due to the musical climate of the times. We are hoping this will wakeup people to this release and they will give it a first or in some cases a second listen. They won't be disappointed as this album only seems to get better with time. Plus, the new artwork by Rainer Kalwitz really fits the title. We are hoping for a Vinyl release soon."

The second Kate French era album melds together the 4 individual talents of Kate French/Metal Vocalist, guitarist David T. Chastain, bassist Kevin Kekes and drummer Dennis Lesh. The group continues it's heavy bombastic sound created on 1995's SICK SOCIETY. David states, "We kept the heavier 90's sound but added more of the progressive stylings from the original CHASTAIN."

Also, this is the first time in David's career where all songwriting was evenly split. "I really love what Kate does with the melodies and lyrics and I finally felt comfortable with letting her take that responsibility 100% so I didn't have to worry about it," the guitarist comments. "She sings with much more emotion on topics that are personal to her as opposed to the sociopolitical themes that I seem to dwell on." "I am not sure how many more times I can talk about the world disintegrating before our eyes."

The lyrical content on this new release centers on Kate's views of life, relationships, religion, s*x and other things important to her. "You don't really have to go into a fantasy world to find topics to write about in today's demented world," Kate says. "Anyway, we all love, hate and desire s*x!"

Whereas SICK SOCIETY was more of a studio project with everyone doing a little bit of everything, IN DEMENTIA is truly a group effort with each person excelling in their own area of expertise. David states, "Make no mistake, this is a group effort, and everyone deserves equal credit in the final results.
