I love band submissions and listener suggestions for the radio stream and podcast, but here are some ground rules:
Artists Submissions:
If you make music and think it’s a good fit for the show, link me to your promos using the form at the bottom of this page. Preferably in 320 kbps mp3. The podcast is in 320 kbps, and the radio stream is 192 kbps. If you submit a 128 kbps file it will sound terri
ble compared to the rest of the songs in the playlist. Even if I like the song I probably won’t play it. Song files must be properly labeled! They need to contain band name, song title, and album title. Check your files before submitting them. You have a better chance of getting featured on the show if you send your whole album. That way I’m more likely to find something that fits the vibe of the radio show and podcast. Preferably just send me a Bandcamp download code! Listener Suggestions:
If you listen to Farpastpost but haven’t heard a relevant band featured on the show, check the Farpastpost Bands Page before submitting a suggestion. It may be that the band hasn’t released new music recently and therefore hasn’t been featured on the podcast for several years. The band’s songs may also have been out of rotation on the radio stream for several months or longer. If you don’t find your recommended artist on the Band Page list send me a message. It’s nice if you link to the band’s Facebook, Bandcamp, or even Myspace profile. A YouTube video is ok, but unless it’s the band’s YouTube profile it doesn’t help me to find information about the band. List the band name and song or album you are recommending, and preferably why you like it. Avoid submissions made up of one word; the band’s name. That gives me very little to go on. Thanks to every listener and band who has taken the time to suggest/submit music to Farpastpost! It keeps the show going!!!!
