The lion is the second largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist only in sub-Saharan Africa and in Gir forest, Gujarat, India. 10,000 years ago, lion was the most widespread large land mammal on the earth after human beings. It lived even in regions of North America and Western Europe. Highly distinctive by its mane and face, lion is one of the most widely recognised animal symbol in human culture.

Lion is 'Simh (सिंह)' in Sanskrit. Suffix 'Sinh' or 'Singh' to several names in warrior communities across the country is traditionally for respect and royal honor! Further, four lions from Ashok Stambh on our national symbol, the word 'Simhaasan' (Throne) used during king's investiture, etc. speak volumes about importance of lion in Indian culture.

Lions are unusually social compared to other big wild cats. It is duty of all of us on the World Lion Day today to ensure conservation, promotion and survival of this Royal Animal on the earth.

JOURNEY STARTED towards TAMIL NADU

FOR THE BHARAT'S FIRST EVER ALL INDIA ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS EXIPDITION ( BHARAT KI PARYAVARAN YATRA )

Awareness rally by planting trees (saplings) across many cities and collecting 36 Native speicies tree saplings Across 28 States & 8 Union Territories dedicated to 75th Independence of India and martyrs soldiers who sacrifice there lives for the india.

I travel across the india for planting trees ourself with the help of local Volunteers, friends and others, creating awareness of planting & saving trees for the protection of environment and , spreading Awareness among the people towards increasing pollution in the country & the world and uncouraging others to plant and protect more trees.
Related to this, I am going to organise India's first ever All India Environmental Awareness Rally named as BHARAT KI PARYAVARAN YATRA by planting 75,0000 trees in 75 cities of across 28 states and 8 union territories in the form of 75 Events, planting 1000 trees in each city,event and collecting a native speicies tree saplings from all 75 cities which will represent that particular State & union territories.
This yatra will be start from Dhanushkodi (Rameshwaram) in south india as 1st Event & Flag off ceremony and Completing this yatra in Delhi as 75th Event ending ceremony, we plant those 75 native speicies tree saplings which we collected from 75 cities across all the States & UT'S near India Gate if we get permission otherwise in some sacred place in the form of memorial garden to honour martyrs soldiers and these trees represents All the States and UT'S with Names.

During this yatra, the families of the immortal soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country will be honored by inviting them in teee plantation events and planting saplings by naming those trees as martyrs Names
And for protection and caring of those planted saplings we are honouring the local Volunteers with PARYAVARAN RAKSHAK certificate for the protection of the environment, they will be entrusted with the responsibility of these planted saplings during Yatra.
This yatra will increase the awareness towards environment and patriotism across the India.

Green Man Of India Today ,11th Sep - National Forest Martyrs Day .
We share a story - The martyrdom of Amrita Devi , her 3 daughters and her Bishnoi clan...

A day to commemorate foresters who laid down their lives to protect forests and wildlife.

The spiritual reverence for nature , traditions of harmony with the local ecology, the environmental stewardship of the Bishnoi tribe in Rajasthan has inspired this day.

In 1730 Maharaja Abhay Singh Maharajah (king) of Jodhpur, a North Western state of Rajasthan, wanted to build a new palace. He sent soldiers to gather wood from the forest region near the village of Khejarli, where Bishnoi villagers had helped foster an abundance of the local Khejri (acacia) trees. When the king's men began to harm the trees, the Bishnois protested in anguish but were ignored by the soldiers, who were under royal orders.

Amrita Devi could not bear to witness the destruction of both her faith and the village's sacred trees. She hugged the trees and encouraged others to do so too, proclaiming:
“A chopped head is cheaper than a felled tree.”

She was decapitated as were her 3 daughters, who took her place , followed by 359 Bishnoi men.

363 Martyred protecting the sacred Khejarli forest.

Once word got back to the King about this activity he rushed to the village and apologized and ordered the soldiers to cease logging operations. Soon afterwards, the kING (Maharajah) designated the Bishnoi region as a protected area, forbidding any harm to trees and the wildlife. This legislation still exists today in the region.

The sacrifices of Amrita Devi and the Bishnoi brave-hearts became the inspiration for a much larger CHIPKO MOVEMENT in India that is still growing today, in which villagers physically embrace trees to save them from being cut.

The CHIPKO MOVEMENT has inspired Forest Friends across India in villages and cities to hug and THE in their regions .
