Presents: Hasfeldt (DK), Conna Haraway (UK), Canadian Rifles (PT) & Mirror Organs (UK) live at The Lubber Fiend in Newcastle upon Tyne.
HASFELDT (Posh Isolation/Janushoved) is a Copenhagen-based artist who works in domains such as performance, and visual and auditory art. His artistic diversity is evident in his varied musical expression, producing from club-like break-beat as well as ambient and contemporary sound, Realtime synthesized samples, orienting the listener in distorted everyday spaces and moods.
CONNA HARAWAY (INDEX:Records/co:clear) is a DJ/sound artist based in Glasgow, UK and founder of INDEX:Records/co:clear. Conna melds a myriad of influences into amorphous soundscapes that traverse IDM, experimental-electronica, ambient and UK-styled bass/breaks.
CANADIAN RIFLES (Eastern Nurseries) is the solo moniker of Porto-based experimental musician Rui P. Andrade. At the helm of the Eastern Nurseries imprint, Andrade’s recorded music is characterized by its boundless sensitivity, with his ability to convey delicate emotions via opulent yet subtle sonic processes. Lurching between heavily textured electronics, alluring melodies and an etherlike sense of fatalism, Andrade’s work as Canadian Rifles doesn’t want to be taken in as a canvas, it demands to be physically affective. As the axiom of the label he runs himself implies: it is music that bleeds, no matter the shape or form.
MIRROR ORGANS (Eastern Nurseries/DISPLAY) is the musical project of London-based musician Bene Pooley. Eschewing traditional genre boundaries to create a fluid sonic sound palette, sculpting music suited as much for late night urban wanderings as it is for dark, sub-frequency filled clubs. Last year saw the release of “Sunless” an album for Porto based ambient label Eastern Nurseries, as well as a two-track longform release “Be The Same Again” on Display Series.
