Savory Words Publishing The delicious combination of letters and words to create amazing stories. As a specialty publisher, Savory Words believes in quality over quantity.

Savory Words Publishing was started in response to feedback received through SW’s sister company, T.S. Writing Services: “Now that you’ve edited my book, where can I get it published?” In 2013, as part of T.S. Writing’s 10th anniversary, Savory Words Publishing was established, focused on Deaf authors. Only a select few books (both print and digital) are accepted each year. This helps ensure that each book is the very best it can be. For more, visit the Savory Words website.

Are you a book scorpion? (Probably not if you follow this account.)

This term was coined by poet Andrew Marvell in 1649. It is likely he took this name from an actual species of scorpion known to feast on bugs found within books or scrolls.

In the tumultuous years of World War II, amidst the chaos and injustice inflicted upon Japanese Americans was a long-overlooked group facing insurmountable challenges: Deaf Nikkei. Deaf Nikkei Wandering provides an overview of these individuals, whose experiences have been overlooked in the broader narrative of wartime history.

From the serene halls of the California School for the Deaf to the barbed wire confines of relocation camps, Deaf Nikkei alumni encountered discrimination, bias, and isolation during the federal relocation and internment of Japanese Americans. This historical account provides a unique glimpse into Deaf Nikkei’s resilience, perseverance, and endurance.

Special price of $8.99; 68 pages, paperback.
