After the success the S*x and the City reboot And Just Like That…, author Candace Bushnell is developing a new midlife dating series called Is There Still S*x in the City?
Bushnell confirmed her partnership with reality TV producing legends Bunim Murray in an Instagram post on Thursday, writing, “Cat’s out of the bag! So excited to be working on a dating show for all of us over 50-somethings with . Stay tuned…”
The series will follow “four 'fabulous' friends in their fifties who are looking for a love do-over as they leave their busy city lives for a dating utopia."
The friends will live together and get to experiment with meeting men their own age, wealthy men and “fantasy” dates.

Macaulay Culkin will be honored with a star on Hollywood Boulevard this week.
Now 43, Culkin rose to pop culture fame with his starring turn as young Kevin McCallister in 1990's "Home Alone" and its sequel. He continued to act in lower-profile roles over the years and in 2021 starred in the 10th season of the "American Horror Story" series.
Catherine O'Hara, who played his mother in "Home Alone," is expected to appear at Friday's ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It's been 30 years since the release of Snoop Dog's debut album Do******le. The album, produced by Dr. Dre was number one on the Billboard 200 for three weeks and sold nearly a million copies in it's first week. With hits like Gin n Juice, Who I Am and Murder was the Case, Do******le redefined West Coast hip-hop and catapulted Snoop Dogg to global superstardom.

On November 18, 1993, Vince McMahon, and his World Wrestling Federation were indicted in Brooklyn on Federal charges that they conspired for years with a convicted steroid dealer to distribute anabolic steroids to W.W.F. wrestlers. During the trial several pro-wrestlers were called to the stand including Hulk Hogan. He testified that he used steroids and would regularly pick them up at WWE headquarters, but he also confirmed that McMahon never directed him to use them. If convicted, McMahon, who appeared at the trial in a neck brace because of recent back surgery, could have faced up to 11 years in prison and a $1.5 million fine. But after an 18 day trial McMahon was acquitted on all charges. Following the steroid ordeal the WWE put in motion the early stages of a wellness program.

It's been 25 years since Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra tied the knot in Las Vegas after what has been called "an all night bender." The marriage followed a whirlwind romance that began around the time Rodman failed to return on schedule from his infamous mid-season vacation in Vegas. Nine days after getting married Rodman filed for an annulment. They reconciled for a bit and were frequently seen together but divorce papers were finally filed In March 1999 ending the four month marriage.

It's been 30 years since the Wu Tang Clan released their debut album, Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers). Released on November 9, 1993, the album's influence has become legendary. It helped restore east coast rap pride and inspired the subsequent work of Nas, Jay Z, the Notorious BIG and Kanye West. With tracks like Protect Ya Neck, C.R.E.A.M and Can It Be All So Simple Enter the Wu Tang is considered to be one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time.

Missy Elliot will become the first female rapper to be inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame at a star studded ceremony tonight at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn.
Other inductees include Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners.
The ceremony streams live on Disney Plus starting at 8pm

It's been 30 years since River Phoenix died following a night out at West Hollywood's infamous Viper Room. At the age of 23 Phoenix was one of Hollywood's hottest stars thanks to his performances in Stand By Me, Running on Empty and My Own Private Idaho. But by all accounts Phoenix hated fame. The young actor who spent his early childhood with his hippie parents in the Christian Cult, The Children of God, was known for his adamant stand on pure living. He was a strict vegetarian and was an active environmentalist. But somewhere along the way he also became a drug abuser.

30 years ago today 12-year-old Tracy Latimer was killed by her father igniting a fierce debate in Canada about euthanasia. On October 24, 1993, Saskatchewan farmer, Robert Latimer, pumped exhaust fumes into the cab of a pickup truck ending the life of his severely disabled daughter. He claimed it was a mercy killing and that he only wanted to end Tracy`s constant pain. Following a lengthy and polarizing court case Latimer was convicted of second degree murder and received a mandatory minimum life sentence with no chance of parole for 10 years. He served his time at a minimum-security institution near Victoria, B.C., beginning in 2001 and was granted full parole in 2010.

It's been 30 years since Joe Carter's epic World Series home run. At 11:37 pm on Saturday October 23rd, 1993, Carter hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth leading the Blue Jays to win their second consecutive World Series title. As Carter rounded the bases, play-by-play annoucer Tom Cheek uttered these words, “Touch ’em all, Joe, you’ll never hit a bigger home run in your life.”

New York City's secretive nocturnal protectors could soon be coming back to life in a reboot of the classic '90s animated series "Gargoyles" on Disney+.
A spokesperson at the streaming service confirmed Tuesday to USA TODAY that a live-action version of the 1990s cartoon is in early development. Gary Dauberman and James Wan, the creative duo behind the "Annabelle" horror series, have been tapped as executive producers, according to Dinsey+.

This is not a joke. Vanilla Ice and Chuck Norris are teaming up in a new movie called Zombie Plane. They are both playing themselves in the action-comedy which was shot in Australia earlier this year.
In the movie, a secret government agency has recruited celebrities to be undercover agents and the celebs must save humanity from an imminent attack from the undead. The film is directed by Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Mier and also stars Australian actress Sophie Monk. No word on a release date. Stand by!

Peace is possible. On this day in 1993 Nelson Mandela and F.W. de Klerk won the Nobel Peace Prize for their work to end Apartheid in South Africa. De Klerk began dismantling Apartheid when he was elected President in 1989 and the next year released Mandela from prison after serving 27 years behind bars for opposing the country's system of racial segregation. Six month after receiving the Nobel prize Nelson Mandela was elected president in South Africa's first democratic elections. F. W. de Klerk became Mandela’s first deputy. Peace is possible.

Just in time for spooky season, the new Goosebumps TV series officially hit Disney+ and Hulu on Friday (Oct. 13), and beyond the creepy storylines based on R.L. Stine’s beloved ’90s books, the soundtrack is equally goosebump-inducing (in a good way).
The horror-comedy series stars Justin Long as teacher Nathan Bratt, who moves into a house haunted by the ghost of Harold Biddle, a 14-year-old boy who was tragically killed, and ends up getting possessed. To soundtrack the show, executive producers Conor Welch and Pavun Shetty worked with music supervising manager Manish Raval to put together a track list that seamlessly blends together some iconic tracks from the 1990s with modern hits.

It's been 30 years since we met the citizens of Halloween Town in Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Based on a poem and the early drawings created by Burton while working at Disney, The Nightmare Before Christmas was the first feature-length stop-motion animated film. It opened on October 13, 1993, to rave reviews and became a sleeper hit at the box office, eventually becoming the cultural phenomenon it is today.
