Former Evening Mail reporter John Simpson sadly lost his battle with cancer and died on Sunday aged 73.
His funeral will take place at St James Church in Blake Street on Friday August 9th at 1.30pm.
John’s former colleagues are meeting at The Mail in Abbey Road at 12.45pm to walk together to the church in a mark of respect.
Anyone who would like to is welcome to join us.

Update on the ‘reunion/leaving do’ on Saturday: Sadly Sheila can’t make it as she’s going away for her 60th but I’m told Jeff Connor should be coming and John Simpson has been invited too! Please feel free to invite anyone else who worked/works with us who might not have seen this. AF x
