The label's first success was with Suede, whose debut album, Suede debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart, and was the fastest-selling debut album since Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Welcome to the Pleasuredome almost ten years earlier.[6] The band went on to win the Mercury Prize that year,[7] and received five Brit Awards nominations. Since 2017 releases have included Lou Rhodes (lamb) Malcolm Middleton (Arab Strap) and Juanita Stein ( Howling Bells ) .

When it comes to songwriting he was untouchable . Some of the greatest songs in living memory stone wall classics that became standards co written by Burt Bacharach . He was a melodic genius . . RIP BURT

Alert - football post incoming !
Still can’t quite believe it but we are off to the final and we are going to win it ! Had the best birthday yesterday watching this sensational team on there way to make history .
It’s been 50 years since we won our last European trophy and its in our 150th year.
It does feel like it’s written in the stars .
If we win it will be the greatest achievement of any Scottish club . Scottish teams aren’t suppose to make European finals or win the damn thing .
Will be a trilogy of German clubs we will have beaten along the way If we do .
Will be one hell of a night ! X

Last night went to see . There were absolutely sensational . Greatest hits set . Robust, dark Rock n roll . Mac prowling around the stage in dark shades inaudible at times but still with immaculate scouse wit . Good to see

Devastated about the news of my dear friend Andy Ross .
I first had the pleasure to meet Andy when he wrote for Sounds magazine under the name of Andy Hurt.
We would then be in the trenches together for most of the 90’s watching new bands and then of course Suede and Blur would both explode under the banner of Britpop .
I had tremendous respect for him at the time and those days were so much fun that it was an absolute privilege to be able to spend quite a bit of time together .
In recent times we would meet fairly regular and when i was in his illustrative company we’d discuss the revolutionary changes to the Music biz - although being Andy I don’t think he was really that bothered about keeping up with it or not .
We would debate music - i would try to understand but be baffled by his distaste for Kate Bush or The Clash .
Of course his knowledge of music put me to shame as it was unbelievable ,and he could sniff out a hit or two hence the enormous and deserved success of Food Records .
Our discussions usually always led to football his beloved Crystal Palace and my beloved Glasgow Rangers .
As recently as this weekend I reached out to him and he said he was really looking forward to the Palace v Liverpool game .

Andy had a polite but gentle manner and a wicked sense of humour .
There was a great wisdom and spirit about him .
The world and Camden will be a worse place tonight .
A diamond guy and a very decent fella .
I will sadly miss you Andy . Absolute gent.
