President Xi Jinping called on and on Tuesday to further promote cooperation, in order to advance regional economic and social development and bring benefits to the two peoples.
He made the remark when meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto in Beijing.
Hailing the development of bilateral relations, Xi said that China and Kenya have been at the forefront of Belt and Road cooperation.
Both countries have jointly completed numerous flagship projects to enhance infrastructure connectivity, he said.
Xi called for further aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with Kenya Vision 2030 — a long-term development blueprint that aims to transform Kenya into a newly industrializing, middle-income country and provide a high quality of life to all its citizens in a clean and secure environment by 2030.

Nearly 800 Chinese and African business leaders will convene in Beijing on Friday to explore innovative pathways for enhancing - industrial cooperation, China's top foreign trade and investment promotion agency said on Tuesday.
As a part of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the 8th Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs aims to pave the way for African countries to accelerate their integration into global industrial and supply chains, said Zhang Shaogang, vice-chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
Speaking at a news conference in Beijing, Zhang said that over 400 business representatives from more than 40 African countries will attend the conference. The participating companies span traditional industries such as energy, mining, infrastructure and trade, and emerging sectors like electronics and communication satellites.

Tola Tsegaye Alemu, a 34-year-old PhD student at the Tianjin University of Technology and Education and a key instructor at the in , has garnered international recognition for his profound insights into teaching methodologies among the 33 workshops spanning Asia, Europe and Africa.
The Ethiopian teacher is currently receiving invitations to various international forums, including the upcoming Second World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference scheduled to take place in later this year. They are aimed at enhancing the vocational technological skills of African students.
"Africa's vocational education is still in its starting stages due to challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, varying materials and teaching resources. Consequently, certain vocations face difficulties in some countries, lacking established models to guide students toward successful careers. The Luban Workshop plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges and fostering improvement," he said.
Alemu serves as an educator at the Technical and Vocational Training Institute in Ethiopia, where a Luban Workshop was established three years ago through collaboration between his institute and Tianjin University of Technology and Education, or TUTE.

In a logistics center of e-commerce platform Kilimall located on the outskirts of Nairobi, capital of Kenya, there was a wide array of goods in warehouses. Local workers were proficiently counting, packing, and labeling items with barcodes or QR codes.
Founded by Chinese entrepreneurs in 2014, this China-Africa two-way e-commerce platform has become a beloved online shopping destination for African consumers.
Kilimall has set up its own logistics and distribution teams, as well as offline outlets, achieving nearly 100 percent accuracy in inventory management. They can receive and process new inventory within 48 hours of arrival, and ship out customer orders within 24 hours of purchase. They have set up over 1,500 pickup locations across Kenya, covering the entire country.
The platform emphasizes the cultivation of local managers, who work together with local employees to select Chinese products that suit African consumers' preferences. Three geological sites in China, comprising , and a , have recently been listed as Geological Heritage Sites by the International Union of Geological Sciences ( ).
These newly selected sites include the Permian vegetation of the Wuda Fossil Site in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Dashanpu Middle Jurassic Dinosaur Fossils Site in southwest China's Sichuan Province and the Guilin Karst in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said Zhang Jianping, vice-chair of the IUGS International Commission on Geoheritage and a professor at the China University of Geosciences, Beijing, at a press conference held by the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGPAS) on Tuesday.
So far, a total of 10 Chinese geological sites have been included in the list of the IUGS Geological Heritage Sites.

The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation ( ) will be held in Beijing from Sept. 4 to 6. The leaders of China and African countries will gather around the theme "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future" to celebrate friendship and chart the way forward for cooperation.
This marks another grand reunion of the China-Africa big family following the 2006 Beijing summit, the 2015 Johannesburg summit, and the 2018 Beijing summit of the FOCAC. It is also the largest diplomatic event hosted by China in recent years, with the highest attendance of foreign leaders.

China's first self-developed narrow-body jet welcomed its 500,000th passenger on Sunday in its flight from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, according to C919's first global customer China Eastern Airlines.
Since launching commercial flights of the very first C919 on May 28, 2023, China Eastern's C919 fleet has accumulated more than 10,000 hours of safe flight operation as of Sunday and served more than 500,000 passengers via over 3,700 commercial flights.

Mineral stone pigments have been used for painting for a long period of time in China. The unique colors presented by mineral pigments constitute an important part of traditional Chinese painting. Artist Yuan Xiaolou has always concentrated on the research about traditional Chinese murals and rock paintings, gaining a deep understanding of their artistic essence. Through persistent efforts, he has developed a compound pigment consisting of water-soluble oil paint, rock paint and ink. Based on this pigment, he added such materials as pearl powder, agate, cinnabar and agilawood in accordance with his creative needs.
Culturally Rich: Exhibition of Yuan Xiaolou's Paintings opened Wednesday at the National Museum of China in Beijing, showcasing 37 of the artist’s painting works themed on fine traditional Chinese culture, created with new materials. In Yuan's paintings, delicate mineral powder overlaps and fuses with precious metal particles such as gold and silver, creating a deep and vast texture similar to the rock painting—as if the work was worn through history, which shows the painter's understanding of traditional Chinese painting.

A star-studded delegation of who achieved outstanding results at the Paris Olympic Games arrived in HongKong on Thursday for a series of activities to demonstrate the medalists' Olympic spirit and to interact with local residents for three days.

Air China and China Southern Airlines on Wednesday received their first aircraft in Shanghai, marking a pivotal moment as the country’s first domestically produced large passenger aircraft enters a new phase of multi-operator deployment.
Air China has opted for an extended-range version of the C919, configured with 158 seats across two classes: eight in business and 150 in economy. China Southern Airlines selected the standard-range model, featuring a three-class layout with 164 seats, including eight in business, 18 in premium economy, and 138 in economy.
Both aircraft are equipped with tailored cabin configurations, including personalized seating and comprehensive in-seat power options, reflecting a focus on passenger comfort and operational flexibility.

The fourth season of the gourmet reality show Taste Trails premiered on Zhejiang TV recently. This season features actress Mao Xiaotong, singer Wilber Pan, pop idol Wen Junhui and host-actor Yu Yang as they explore the culinary culture of different cities across China.
Their first stop is Harbin in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, a city that gained booming popularity among tourists last year. The celebrity group aims to uncover new routes in this trending city for a wider audience. Following Harbin, they will also visit Shenzhen in Guangdong Province and Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province.
The reality show introduces a brand-new program format. In each episode, the celebrities first participate in a game, where a capsule machine randomly generates information that they must piece together to create a specific food route.

Tapestry Inc, a US luxury goods group, will focus on growing its store network, enhancing its digital presence and attracting more young consumers to keep pace with the rapidly evolving consumer trends in China, said a senior executive.
The owners of brands such as Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman, the New York-based Tapestry had planned to open 100 stores across China between 2022 and 2025, and further spur sales through digital channels and duty-free business at Hainan Free Trade Port in Hainan Province.
“We have already opened 70 stores across the country (since 2022) and that goal can be easily achieved by 2025. There will be more to come in the years ahead,” said Sandeep Seth, Tapestry’s chief growth officer and chief marketing officer for the group’s Coach brand.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) published the Global Innovation Index 2024 top 100 science and technology clusters on Tuesday, among which the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou cluster continued to rank second globally for the fifth consecutive year.
A spokesperson for the HKSAR government welcomed the ranking, saying that it continues to give high recognition to the leading position of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) in the global innovation and technology (I&T) field.
