Family Dinner at the Log Cabin by Julie Abrera
My husband and I rescued a little log cabin with a long history. Nestled in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, not far from our house, we found a small 1830s log cabin that needed a new home. The journey to move and rebuild this little gem took two years. Relocated to our back garden, we knew this space would be the perfect place to gather with friends and family and add a new chapter to its almost 200-year-old history.

This blush bohemian bridal shower will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the last event I hosted in early March 2020, and when I look back a year later, I have so much gratitude in my heart. I was able to spend this day with friends right before the world came to a halt. With soft blush tones, delicate feminine details, a lavish mimosa bar, and spring florals, this bridal shower was both classic and trendy; in my opinion, it would make a perfect bridal shower theme for many years to come.

For the Love of Mushrooms by Dannyelle Nicolle-Ramjist
This picnic was inspired by my love of mushrooms — it’s such a fun trend! When I was out shopping one day, I discovered a marble and wood cutting board in the shape of a mushroom and thought it’d be a festive serving piece for a mushroom-themed party. From there, I found some more mushroom pieces perfect for a backyard summer picnic, which took me about a month to plan.

A Colorful Celebration by House of Fete
While shopping for props for an event, we stumbled upon one of the coolest items we had ever seen. This particular vintage shop had a 6-foot-tall cactus that was originally made to be a birdhouse. Handcrafted over 60 years ago, it would serve to be our inspiration for our upcoming party celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

A Picnic Celebrating Cherry Season
This picnic was inspired by beautiful fresh cherries during cherry season. They’re such a favorite treat and the perfect inspiration for a get-together. Once I decided on the theme, I started shopping for some fun pieces. I spent a few weeks keeping an eye out for cherry-themed items to include. For the tablecloth, I purchased a cherry-patterned fabric from the fabric store, and it inspired the color scheme of red with black, white, and gray. I also found some paper straws with cherries on them.

We created this photoshoot for the love of creativity in photography and the love for arranging flowers. We wanted to create something beautiful yet unique.
Fueled with passion and love for flowers, I spent my days designing the kinds of floral arrangements that make you stop, smile, and ask, “How did she do that?” Meanwhile, Tanya was in charge of creating a beautiful photo gallery full of light and details of the table setup throughout the morning of the photoshoot. As a photographer, she always looks for a holistic and mindful approach. The photoshoot took place early in the morning before sunrise, and the result was truly dreamlike.

Spill the Tea by House of Fete
For the center of the table, we crafted a runner of rainbow-colored glass, bowls, and cake stands filled to the brim with tea sandwiches, floral sugars, and enough candy to rival the Easter Bunny. Of course, no tea party is complete without the tea, so the guests each had a teapot with their silhouette in the center. The finishing touch to the table was the hand-painted cookies by The Sugar Bug featuring the sweetest Easter characters. The cookies adorned each place setting alongside a butterfly macaron.
The table was surrounded by a gorgeous arch of rainbow baby’s breath by Apis Floral; the bright colors made the table stand out among the almond trees. Each child sat on a velvet pillow, and on either side flanked by bunnies, the stories of “Bridgerton” and a rainbow macaron cake by Soiree Macarons were strategically placed. If you look close enough, you’ll even find a disco ball egg.

Tropical Bunnies by Rachel Hunter
I always looked forward to Easter as a kid. Since I grew up in Washington State, this holiday signified that better weather was on the way. We dyed eggs, ate far too many jelly beans, and competed in a lively family egg hunt — rain or shine!
Easter is often associated with pretty pastels, but I opted for bold and bright colors, taking inspiration from the flora around me. The tables, covered in bright-pink linens from Just Tables and Chairs, featured egg-shaped cookies as name cards from Claumellows Cookies, complete with a hole at the top of the egg so I could tie a ribbon with the guest’s name ironed on to it. This was a festive detail that my die-cutting machine helped me finish.

Bunny Brunch in the Meadow
Inspired by Lenox’s Butterfly Meadow collection, I set out to create a whimsical world in my dining room where guests felt as if they’d been magically transported to a springtime meadow amongst bunny friends.
There’s nothing I love more than the blank canvas of classic white dinnerware, but this particular mix-and-match collection, with its beautiful artistry, provided all the inspiration I needed to get started. I adored how each piece showcased a medley of pattern variations, like gorgeous blooms, lively butterflies, and sweet bunnies. And I particularly loved the butterflies sitting playfully atop the lids of the teapot, coffeepot, and condiment set. To complement the nature-inspired tableware, I added natural textured elements: bunnies alongside the centerpiece, wooden eggs, small grapevine wreaths, and woven placemats throughout the table, as well as a wicker vase to the buffet table.

Americana Dreams by Cori West
The Americana theme was a no-brainer, as I’ve always loved USA and Americana-themed items. I enlisted the help of my longtime friend, Kimmy, who helped with all the details. Since this was a backyard gathering, it was easy to set things up and cover as needed.
As the main focal point using dessert as decor, I usually incorporate a dessert stand. My friend Brittany of Whisked Cakes made two cakes, and Paula Purtteman of The Farmer’s Daughter Baked Goods & Cakery made the cutest cookies. My sister-in-law, Rachel, of Cakepops by Rachel is a cake pop artist, and we loved having her help decorate the party tables.

Rose Glow by Sarah Thompson
For my 50th birthday, I wanted to gather some of my favorite women for a small yet special celebration. Since I love to craft, inviting my girlfriends to a ladies’ brunch where they could have fun making something to take home was perfect.
The main craft was to make a custom hat band. Guests were asked to bring a hat with them to embellish, and I provided loads of ribbons, leather strips, feathers, and faux flowers to choose from. I gave mini-tutorials on how I had crafted the bands in the sample hats, then let everyone explore and have fun.
Party favors included a coffee mug with our “Greetings From Austin” mural on it and filled with treats and a Lost Inn Austin motel key chain from the vintage trailer in our backyard. My heart glows neon pink thinking about my special day.

Country Western Fun by Lori Hanrehan
Several years ago, we began celebrating the dog days of summer with a themed party. A chance to not only gather but to also have a little fun with food and decor while allowing guests to dress the part. Our latest theme was country western, one of my favorites to date because of the laid-back vibe and ease of attire options.
Our old Chevy came in handy as a showstopper decoration and another area to serve drinks. I love using galvanized tubs as casual coolers; fill them with ice and you’ve got a rustic beverage station to hold cold drinks! The tub on the tailgate was filled with soda and sparkling water. I love to keep the non-spirited drinks separate and easily accessible to guests of all ages, specifically in hot temperatures.

“This party evolved from the initial mood board. At first it was all about color and texture, but when I started designing closer to the party, Andy Warhol became the shining theme. Held at our home on a Saturday, it was my daughter Brennan’s golden birthday (turning 3 on the 3rd), and we kept the guest list small of cousins and family. Intimate Family Dinner by Grace Cousins
We were planning the perfect backyard garden wedding at my childhood home, and I, being quite the introvert, didn’t want to compromise my wish of having an intimate family dinner before the larger reception. We then decided to have a catered rehearsal dinner on the front porch of my parent’s home.
This event reflected my personality completely. I made sure to keep it feminine, colorful, and filled with the vintage vibe reflected by our 150-year-old bright-yellow Victorian home. The table was set with colored glass goblets and mismatched vintage china, rented from a favorite local vendor. I added a personal touch by placing embroidered vintage napkins on each guest’s place setting.
Wrapped sentimental gifts from me and my husband were waiting on our bridal party’s chairs. I embroidered names on vintage hankies for my three older sisters to give to their partners as pocket squares and for my parents to use for their “happy tears” on the wedding day.

Such an Ext-roar-dinary Time by Meghan Murray
Brooks’ 1st birthday was such an “ext-roar-dinary” time from start to finish! When we walked into the lush, full-of-life venue at Plants by Post, we were already well on our way to being transported back to the Jurassic era, and we left the walk-through overflowing with ideas and inspiration for the celebration to come.
The “dino-mite” custom photo walls and signage were a few of our favorites. From the stegosaurus scales to 3-D dino footprints, we loved how all the details complemented the greenery and jungle-like setting. Other dino details included a rock crayon scavenger hunt, custom dino stickers, stir sticks, and signage found throughout the venue.

A Symphony of Neutral Tones by Kenzie Bates
There are occasions that warm the heart and bring a smile to everyone’s face. Recently, Kenzie's Events had the privilege of orchestrating a truly magical baby shower for a first-time mom-to-be. The theme? Adorable teddy bears in a soothing symphony of neutral tone.
Neutral colors set the stage for this elegant affair, with a palette of soft creams, gentle browns, and warm tans. One of the standout features was the centerpiece decorations. My team handcrafted teddy bears that seemed to float away, each clutching a bouquet of balloons. These whimsical centerpieces added an element of playful charm to the overall decor.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland by Meghan Murray
The holiday season is truly the most wonderful time of the year. Add a December birthday to the mix, and we at Parker Grace Events felt inspired and ready to create a big birthday celebration for our client and her family.
When your birthday falls in December, it’s important to celebrate all the milestones in addition to what the holiday season brings: cozy snow days, hot cocoa, and spending time with family and friends. It felt like a scene from a snow globe. We loved transforming her stunning backyard into a winter wonderland, topped off with cool pastel hues, soft, snowy textures, and a dash of glitz and glamour.

North Pole Post by Karina Purcell
Last December, as the holiday season unfolded, I had the opportunity to organize a memorable Christmas party at a local park for special needs families at my daughter’s school.
To set the festive tone, we adorned a designated area of our local park with decorations, creating a whimsical, magical atmosphere. We decorated the tables with pine garlands, birchwood houses, and terracotta tabletop trees. I wanted the park to feel like the guests had stepped into a magical home set inside a forest.
At the heart of the party, we set up a charming “Letter to Santa” station. A beautifully decorated table with wood-colored pencils, whimsical papers, and stunning envelopes awaited the children’s wishes. To make this station adaptive, we included three types of letter templates where kids could choose which one worked best for them.

Dreaming of a White Christmas by Stephanie Short Campbell
The film "White Christmas" is a family favorite in our home. We always reach for this nostalgic holiday classic first, as it's a surefire way to put us in the Christmas spirit! It was this movie that had me dreaming of a white Christmas celebration.
To create a winter wonderland, I first filled our dining room with several flocked Christmas trees to give the illusion that they were covered with freshly fallen snow. I enveloped the table with a white tablecloth and topped it with plates in assorted shapes and patterns – giving a likeness to snowflakes with their various designs.
A white fur runner, tinsel ornaments, deer, and an assortment of wintry trees made up the frosty centerpiece. But my favorite piece of winter whimsy was the finishing touch of the dazzling optic crystal ornaments I hung on our chandelier, mimicking glistening snowflakes falling from above! To add a bit of warmth to the white, I utilized fairy lights and candles throughout the center of the table and gold accents with ornate candleholders and flatware.

Learn How to Make a Fall Garland with Kelly Welk "I love bringing the outside in - this garland is a mix of curly willow, dried Chinese lanterns, and fall-colored leaf branches. Because all these elements are dried and lightweight, they do not need much support to stay in place. It’s all supported by 3 small nails.
