In a special episode of my cricket podcast, I had the pleasure of hosting three insightful guests: Malik Jahangir, Umer Khan, and Asjad Khan. Together, we delved into Pakistan's remarkable victory over England in the third Test, a win that felt monumental, especially after enduring six consecutive Test losses and not securing a series victory against England since 2015.

We explored the significance of this triumph, especially considering Pakistan’s lack of home Test wins since 2021. Our conversation took an intriguing turn as we discussed Babar Azam's leadership and the controversies surrounding his tenure, particularly how former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja seemed to favor him, often at the expense of the team's overall strategy. This favoritism, we agreed, led to the creation of flatter pitches that arguably hindered the team's performance.

We also acknowledged the influence of Aqib Javed, whose strategies and insights played a crucial role in turning the tide for Pakistan in this series. His coaching has reinvigorated the team's spirit and performance, helping them secure a much-needed victory against a formidable opponent.

Lastly we discussed how New Zealand created history by defeating India on home soil in a Test Series.

This episode not only celebrated a significant win but also prompted a deeper discussion about the dynamics of leadership and management in Pakistani cricket.
