The magazine comprises of a competitive writing component, as well as general Ithaca-related literary content. ZoetIC is searching for writers, copy editors, photographers, designers and submissions! There are three sect
ions to submit your original works to, and two submission and editing periods. The three sections are Prose, Poetry and Personal/Critical Essay
Submission period one: November 1, 2012—December 15, 2012
Editing period one: Rolling from submissions through the end of February
Submission period two: January 15, 2013—February 15, 2013
Editing period two: Rolling submissions through end of March
For the first submission period, pieces should be submitted to [email protected] no later than December 15, 2012. In the subject line, please indicate the section being submitted to and your name. Please submit in Word format and indicate the best way to reach you within the body of the email. If there is a particular professor that was instrumental in the creation of the submission/ you’d like to work with during the revising period, please also indicate that person in the body of the email. Poetry:
- Pieces accepted from Ithaca College current students (undergraduate and graduate) and alumni.
- Pieces can have been written for class assignments, but cannot have been published in any other publication
- The submitter must be the sole author
- The submitter must be available to meet and work with editor
- Pieces must be based on original ideas unless otherwise indicated
- Pieces can be in any poetry format
Prose:
- Pieces accepted from Ithaca College current students (undergraduate and graduate) and alumni.
- Pieces can have been written for class assignments, but cannot have been published in any other publication
- The submitter must be the sole author
- The submitter must be available to meet and work with editor
- Pieces must be based on original ideas unless otherwise indicated
- Pieces can be in any prose format
Essay:
- Pieces accepted from Ithaca College current students (undergraduate and graduate) and alumni.
-Essays may be critical or personal.
-Critical Essays must have a literary focus.
-Essays limited to 3000 words.
-Critical essays must follow MLA guidelines, including proper citation mechanics if applicable.
-As a general rule, personal essays should also follow MLA guidelines.
- Pieces can have been written for class assignments, but cannot have been published in any other publication.
- The submitter must be the sole author.
- The submitter must be available to meet and work with editor.
