Once again, this year-end, film lovers Singapore will have the
opportunity to immerse themselves in the distinct world of Latin
American cinema. Organised by the Embassies of Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador,
Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela, and the Honorary Consulate
of Colombia, this year’s Keppel Latin American Film Festival will
present movies from the widest group of countries so far. Th
e nine award-winning films that will be screened, one from each
organising country, are a cross-section of current Latin film craft
and, whether drama or comedy, they are a wide window into the
rich and diverse facets of Latin American culture. Renowned directors include Laís Bodanzky, Esteban Ramirez, Tania
Hermida and Carlos Sama. In addition, filmgoers will be able to
reacquaint themselves with well known stars such as Carmen Maura,
Francisco Gattorno and Magaly Soler, and discover lesser known
ones like Úrsula Pruneda, Nelson Villagra and Flavio Caballero. Thanks to the generous support of Keppel, tickets for all screenings,
which will take place at The Cathay, are complimentary. They will
be distributed on a first-come first-served basis, 30 minutes before
