TRI Audio in recent times have been showing some great positive signs with their latest release as they have introduced the latest generation for their iconic I3-series. That is the TRI I3 Pro MKIII, which has gained the attention of reviewers and earned a couple rave feedback from end-users as well. A much needed response from TRI and KBEAR as they have not been particularly successful to cater the demand from audiophiles, especially the Chi-Fi community with the releases of TRI StarRiver, TRI iONE which I have reviewed in the past (click on the hyperlink to view), etc.

Well, since we’re in the topic about TRI Audio, here we have for review this time is an another latest pair of in-ear from them, which is the TRI Draco. Perhaps, the naming does have any correlations with the two-headed serpent from the Greek mythology? Obviously, I’m jesting. First and foremost, I would take this chance to give my appreciation to TRI Audio and KeepHiFi for their generosity to provide us a brand new unit for a review. Anyway I digress, this IEM with a shell made out of CNC aluminium alloy is priced at an affordable $59 at the time of this review. Inside the Draco features not one but two dynamic drivers as well as an open-back design which can be obviously seen through the vent holes on the face plate. Well enough said, let’s get into the review!

KZ Official Store or Knowledge Zenith is the infamous brand that is impossible to ignore as they are everywhere and hate it or love it, they are here to stay. As per usual of their style or production, they are still very active in producing a wide range of earphones in a budget mindset and they have a mixed reception mostly due to their tuning, but as the times goes on, KZ is evolving and seems to be heading into the right direction with their current releases such as EDC pro, Hydro, Castor and many more that have a much more mature tuning that is pretty well accepted in the community. As we are heading towards the quarter end of 2024, KZ has decided to update their ZS12 series with the all new ZS12 Pro X which includes their famed super linear dynamic driver in this setup encased in an all metal build.

Keephifi has been a good sport for sending us a pair of all new ZS12 Pro X for an honest take and we are grateful for this opportunity. They are the official reseller for the brand KZ and many more budget Chi-fi so do check them out for amazing deals. So, has the tide really turned for KZ with their current tuning ways? Whale, whale, whale, what do we have here? The all new Hidizs MP143 that we all have been waiting for. The sequel from the highly praised MP145 and they have a slightly smaller sized shell along with an improved planar driver, the Fast 2 planar that Hidizs has been innovating in pursuit of a better sound as usual. One of my main attractions to these IEM is their commitment with WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) and Hidizs has doubled down on the cooperation in giving a helping hand by spreading awareness in whale conservation and they have named the MP143 after the legendary sperm whale, Salt, the Grand Dame of Stellwagen Bank and she was the first whale to be given a name sighted since 1975 that has several DVD documentaries including Salt & Friends: Humpback Whales With Names. It is a nice gesture of Hidizs to provide support for these conservation and something I hope more product producers will opt to do as an obligation towards our planet.

A huge thanks to Zoie from Hidizs for this unique opportunity in reviewing the MP143 Salt and I am beyond stoked for these IEM. Will the Salt make another splash in the portable audio scene like the MP145 did? We shall find out here.

Over the past couple of month I have been hearing the name of this IEM a lot, the Mega5-EST. A universal pair of in-ear monitor made by Hisenior which almost instantly gained legendary status, I have came to know this brand only a couple years ago back, when the predecessor Mega5P was the hype in the ChiFi community although they have been operating since 2015. We have covered a few IEMs from this brand as well in the past, which was the T2 Classic and the Fe3 Universal. As they say, new page opens up a brand new story, thus with us this time we finally have the chance to review about the Hisenior Mega5-EST 7th Anniversary Limited Edition which retails for around US$549 (MYR2455). Massive thanks to one of our loyal followers, also an online friend of mine (thanks Faiz!) was kind enough to send his personal unit for me to try.

To say that the Mega5-EST is the best IEM within a certain price bracket would be an understatement for how it performs. Perhaps it might as well redefine the thought of “performance to value” ratio that is often repeated from time to time, we have said it for the Moondrop Variations yet it has its own quirks, Well, that’s the different case with the Mega5-EST. It is truly a versatile IEM, throw anything at it and it still sounds good. Nevertheless, I would still like to share my opinions about this IEM and see where I could shine more light on the Mega5-EST. Thus, let’s dive into it.

Mail delivery today and wasn't expecting this but it has arrived! The all new KZ ZS12 PRO X and yes it is a mouthful and surprisingly very, very well built with some weight on them. Full metal shell with an open back design and probably the best built quality that i have ever seen from KZ.

All thanks to Keephifi for providing this demo set and do check them out for amazing deals especially with budget Chi-fi stuffs.

But in this review however, I will not be giving my opinions about cables instead, what we have here for review this time is their latest in-ear monitor release, Kotori Audio VAMPIRE. To add into that as well, the VAMPIRE isn’t actually the first IEM Kotori has came up with, there is also the more affordable Dauntless which I have yet to try one for myself. Hello and good day guys!

It is almost the weekend and we couldn't be happier for an important IEM to have arrived here on AudioMonsta , the all new Hidizs MP143 and they are set to launch soon in the near future. They are a sequel in collaboration with WDC and the MP143 is named after Salt, the famous 70 plus year old whale from Cape Cod. A shout-out to Hidizs and Zoie Hello for this opportunity.

First impressions are quite positive and they are slightly smaller than the rather large shell of the MP145. A full review is coming soon so stay tuned y'all!

When I think of good planar IEM, surely a few models that comes and mostly it will be from the likes of Letshuoer Audio as they have quite a good footing in the planar segment with concrete classics such as the S12 series and the venerable flagship S15 that is surely one of the best sounding planar IEM so far in my book. They have surely have their tuning mastered after producing hits after hits of IEMs such as the Cadenza series, the D13 dynamic and the S series of planars over the past years and to celebrate their 8th anniversary in this portable audio segment, they have decided to release the new entry planar IEM, the S08 that is equipped their 4th generation planar driver that is easy to drive and easy on the wallet as well. They are priced just below 100 USD (RM449) and given their track record, this might be a new contender in this price range.

A huge thanks to Betty from Letshuoer Audio for this opportunity in reviewing the S08 and I am over the moon for this IEM as planar IEMs have been the building blocks of their success. How will the Letshuoer S08 perform in this ever growing, saturated segment? We shall find out here.

It took a while to arrive but it has landed nonetheless, the all new LETSHUOER S08. It is an entry planar IEM that surely doesn't disappoint in their sound. They might shake up the sub USD100 segment with a bang!

This year is starting to be a great year for Rose Technics for their great releases such as the Star City 5 Pro, the QT9 Mk3, the Ceramics TWS and many more paving a way for users around the globe to appreciate their enthusiasm in making high performance audio in a reachable price. The Star City 5 Pro is surely one of my favourites V shaped IEM and they punch way above their asking price in every aspect. Recently in collaboration with HiFiGo, they have dive into the realm of portable audio dongle by being one of the first to adopt the all new Sabre flagship portable DAC chipset, the ES9039q2m, implemented into the RoseSelsa RS9039. The ES9039q2m is a continuation of the legendary ES9038q2m that is famed for being a technical beast by boasting an ultra low noise with a highly technical sound and Rose Technics is jumping on the wagon early with this RS9039 dongle.

If the Mid-Fi IEM market has been quite raved about recently, the kilo-buck space, on the other hand, has been calmer for quite some time. Not because there aren’t any new releases at this price point, but rather because there’s nothing that really stands out or can be compared to the top of the class. Hence, when a brand releases something at this price point, it always raises eyebrows, especially among us enthusiasts. So, the brand I’m referring to is Fiio, which needs no introduction. They have recently released their $999 USD IEM with 10 Balanced Armatures (BAs). With attractive marketing terms such as ‘negative feedback bass system,’ ‘Rubycon-audiophile grade crossover capacitors,’ ‘S.Turbo acoustic design,’ and ‘advanced DLP 3D printed shell,’ you might be interested to see how they actually perform and where they stand among the competition. For that, you’ll have to keep reading.

It's been a while that we have covered a TangZu Audio product as they have been relatively busy with producing great higher end IEM like the XuanWu Gate and Nezha which have been received well globally for their unique yet competitive performance. With all the new releases churning out from China, a product that actually intrigued me is one that has a rarely seen blood red resin body with gold butterfly wings adorned on the faceplate is the rather new TangZu Xuan NV which is a tuning collaboration alongside the famed Hawaii Bad Boy (HBB) and this will be their second collab after the successful launch of the Heyday. They are equipped with an unique dual dynamic driver in an eye-catching all red design and they are premium to say the least all at an entry level price. Qudelix, Inc. is a company originated from South Korea. They are renown for their Qudelix 5k, a small Bluetooth dongle that that has enhance software support, in particular their Equalization capability. To date, I don’t se any company that able to provide the same extensive software development for their audio hardware product as Qudelix 5.

In early 2024, Qudelix has launched a new product, Qudelik t71. The Qudelix T71 boast a additional 4.4 mm balanced jack, and 7.1 surround sound quality. Qudelix T71 loss 5K Bluetooth capability though. I understand the decision, the Qudelik 5K, while is an outstanding product, has weak staging, and blur direction, primarily due to Bluetooth connection. The wired connection able to provide better staging, and improve sense of direction.

First of all I would like to thank Ah Jeff and Wei Hangz from NotBrand for sending me this unit of their new creation and their entry into the IEM making world, the Pursuer. It is an all handmade IEM and they are powered by a single dynamic driver with loads of tuning and they have spent countless hours making this IEM sound just the way they wanted it to be. 2023 has been an active year for Hidizs with their amazing releases from them like the MS5, MS3 and the continuation of the S series dongle, the S9 Pro Martha. 2024 is here and nothing is stopping them this year and they have been in the works with an all new S8 dongle, the S8 Pro, codenamed Robin, in honour of the small thrush bird that is known for their sweet singing chirps and they symbolises the beauty of nature. The Robin is equipped with 2 pieces of the most cost effective Cirrus Logic CS43131 steering away from their previous choice of Sabre chipset all in a fresh new edgy design with futuristic looking buttons. Zoie from Hidizs has arranged a demo sample for us for an honest review before the launch of the S8 Pro and we are truly grateful for the opportunity given. Rose Technics might not ring a bell for you but they are a well known audiophile company that has been around since 2012 and they have been one of my favourite audio companies since then. I personally have owned a few items from them like their dual driver earbuds, Maria 2, the more recent 5 driver hybrid, the QT9 MK2 and I used to own the Mini 3 way back. Their products honestly are great with innovative design and most importantly, they sounded great. Recently I have been in touch with them for a sample review of some of their latest line of earphones, the light year series, and they have kindly sent us a pair of the Star City 5 Pro for an honest review. The light year series is a line from Rose Technics that focuses on a high performance, low price approach and I am over the moon for this opportunity moreover appreciate the opportunity given. The Star City 5 Pro is a triple hybrid IEM with a single dynamic and dual balanced armature setup and they have some pretty nifty venting systems inside along with a user-friendly price. How will they fare in this tightly contested segment? We shall find out here.
