I.R.S. Records Nashville I.R.S. Records Nashville Records was launched in 1979 by Miles Copeland III, brother of the Police drummer Stewart Copeland and music promoter Ian Copeland.

It was the home to groundbreaking artists including R.E.M., The Go-Go’s, The Alarm, The Buzzcocks, and The Dead Kennedys during its 17-year history. In 2013, Caroline, the independent services division of Capitol Music Group, and highly-respected Nashville-based music executive John Grady, launched I.R.S. Records Nashville as a truly independent and viable home for artists, not only in country mus

ic but in the many genres of music that thrive in Nashville. Records Nashville is the home to innovative artists with the freedom to pursue their artistic visions. The initial artist roster includes the late Cowboy Jack Clement and duo Striking Matches.
