I'm a big fan of efficiency and recycling long form content.

This clip is ironically a teaser clip from a longer form interview I did recently (dropping soon!) In a general sense, shoot a long form interview, podcast, keynote presentation, or educational video and grab teasers from that longer form piece to use as social media posts in vertical format.

I have been testing this on my own accounts and client accounts and have seen some crazy reach sharing on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.

We are at this insane point in history where it has never been easier to get a message out to prospective customers and its ALL FREE. You will be kicking yourself in 5 years if you don't take advantage of the organic reach we all have in our pocket.

Ever wanted to shoot commercial fitness promo videos?

In my experience, the first step is shadowing others that already do it. If you are having trouble getting on sets, I have created a full BTS virtual job shadow with me, on a shoot for Schutt Sports.

There are so many benefits to building a community/personal brand online. As trends continue, the 'thank you economy' will be the main way people pick the brands they buy from.

Who would you want to work with?

A: Someone you have never heard of before.

B: Someone you have binged every episode of their podcast on the commute to work.

In just a few short years, my email list, YouTube channel, and Facebook Group have created some insane opportunities for me personally and for my business. Inbound leads for video work, opportunities to speak, brands that want to pay me to talk about their products, and the list goes on.

If you are on the fence about putting out content of any kind, consider the following benefits you could enjoy:

Direct Benefits:

-Help a group of people overcome problems (usually your ideal customers or colleagues in a role similar to yours)
-Brand awareness and affinity for your business/company
-More customers for your business/company
-Larger social followings that solidify social trust

Collateral Benefits:

-Ad revenue
-Affiliate revenue
-Opportunities to build/sell an online product
-Brand sponsorships
-Guest speaking/podcast interviews

Biggest downside: It takes time. And quite a bit of it if you aren't careful.

But don't let the one downside stop you. If you have knowledge in your industry, I implore you to share it!

Start a blog/podcast/YouTube channel/TikTok account/Facebook Group or other way to build an audience. Give value to others and great things will come your way!

The first step is just to start. Pick one platform where you believe your audience is. Create some content there and see what happens! Show up for others, ask little in return and the ripple effect back to you will be awesome.

What marketer wouldn't want more leads?

A simple strategy I have seen work time and time again is using video marketing like a financial investment. Invest in the platforms that will reward you over the long term and places that you can compound that growth. YouTube is that place!

Simple Strategy: Turn your top 5 performing blog posts into videos (even have someone read the script from a prompter) Share those videos on your YouTube channel following my 6 R's Ranking method, embed the video in your blog post and forget about it for a few months. This effort will bring viewers to your blog from both Google search and YouTube search, the two largest search planforms out there.

How did I build the largest Facebook group in the world for with over 100,000 members in it?

Believe it or not, this was a very intentional and strategic move for me 4 years ago when I knew I would be building online education products for other videographers and would need some people to know who I was in that space.

Here are my biggest tips for starting a Group from scratch:
1. Make the title searchable and clear
2. Get your 'Dirty 100' so FB starts promoting you to others for free
3. Make the group private to filter out spammers
4. Engage weekly

If you have any pointed questions about the viability of starting a Facebook group for your industry, ask away in the comments!
