I’ll try to keep this brief, today marks 5 years of abstaining from alcohol. There were probably 100 or so reasons why, however one stuck out today, I wanted better for myself and my family. I’m not saying any of my problems went away or that it didn’t cost me things I held dear. But it did allow me to work on being a better person for the people that I loved and that loved me. That journey of improvement is endless and there is no button that changes your flaws. I have so much more though as a result that I know I wouldn’t have if I didn’t make that change. For that I am grateful for this moment of sharing and reflection. Hopefully if you are considering a change similar because of your 100 or so reasons I encourage you too. You may miss things as well but you will never regret what you have gained in the process. 🙏✌️ with love and gratitude- your friend Brit
